What do I need to know to make a trainer?

Well not a trainer..But to make in game IRC window or macros. Small mods for broodwars. Im sure I need C++ but what else do I need to know?

For IRC you need to know IRC (IRC has it's own language) Macros can be done with any Macro language (Auto IT, Excel)

Understanding of Packets and how the game is run interally.

mIRC's language is REAL easy... In Game IRC windows would be interesting, you better be familiar with creating, using, and reading information off of DLL files :O
