The kid(hes 21) that caught bond's baseball yesterday will owe like 210,000 next year because the IRS considers it income. wtf? what if a 12 year old or whatever caught it? i dunno, i guess u can sell the thing for millions or give it to bonds and hope the IRS doesn't charge you but shit...

Lol. He didn't win any money. He caught a ball, and the IRS said "cough up $210,000 dollars because that ball MIGHT be worth a lot of money to a crazed, filthy rich sports memorabilia collector with absolutely nothing better to do with his money than purchase used baseballs. Not like we have homeless or anything."

That's like walking down the street, finding a really rare Pokemon card in the gutter, picking it up to put it in your pocket, and getting mauled by the IRS for a thousand dollars.

What if the kid doesn't want to SELL the ball...it has NO monetary value if it's not sold. He may as well just take a hacksaw and give them 35% of the ball itself. It's not like he's going to have the money to pay the IRS $210,000 if he doesn't sell the thing.

If the IRS EVER ****ing tell me I might owe money because of something I might ****ing have that might be a some ****ing value I would tell them to piss the **** off and suck some big ****ing dick because that's what they all enjoy doing. Mother****ers.

he wouldent be keeping 700K anyway.. in the artical it says the balls worth 600k and IRS wants 210k (35%). witch leaves you with 390K not 700.
390k... you guys are talking as if 390k dollars in US is something you make every second...

I'd jus sell it for 390k for sure... **** that like covers my future 10 years if i use it well...

I would like to know where the irs came up with that number...

I would also like to know how they justify it seeing as tax has already been payed on it. The MLB pays taxes on the balls when they buy them, the ball possiblly going up in value because it is used really shouldn't be the kids problem. That being said I think the irs should be required to buy it if they are going to charge the kid using an arbitrary number they pulled out of their ass.

and the tax only applies to that ball. any ball thats hit by any other player doesn't get taxed. then again, it might not be worth that much.
