Anyway, so as not to make this a blatant plug (even though I worked so hard on it :cry: ), I'm celebrating my new site by hosting a weekly Starcraft miniature mapping contest. If you don't have huge starcraft skills or patience, then no problem: the contests are small, theme-based events where you try to make the best map implementing the theme(s) I've specified within the week-long time limit. More than enough time to do some quality stuff.

If you're interested, then simply email me and I'll add you to the list! I'll need at least 12 signups to get it rolling first, though. This should be fun!

Ok, and now for the site itself: I still have work to do on it, mainly with the scripting/functionality, grammar/spelling/editing, asthetics (minor), features, and of course, I plan to implement a feature allowing you to leave comments on each section of the page, and hopefully some forums to round it all off. I have more than just Starcraft stuff too on it, including some of my works from other games, some of my art creations, a humor section, links, etc., so it should be a well-rounded package. I'll let you decide on that, though.

Anyway, for both the contest or the page itself, I'd appreciate feedback of any kind (like what you think of it in general, some specific or general stuff you'd like to see, problems with it, etc.)

I think its a Sw33t idea it would be a good idea to see if theres any imagination in theys people ^^
(i being a bad map maker) ited also be good to see what other maps could make in a week from the good to the bad (the only bad maps would be mine) Over all there would be some cool things about this i like the idea Tuxedo.
BTW will ther be any prizes like hmmm like CHIPS? or B33r? if so IM TOTALY in ^^ (prizes arnt needed for me all i need is Bawls ^^)
Also would there be a |Location that we meet at| or would we just do it here?

Maby the Contest winner couldwin some sort of Notification like he/she get there name in a map and on a website and stuff like that

maby the winner(and future winners) could get to be in a part of a map making team.

or maby just win a cool medal or Advitar or something >.< im all out of ideas sorry (all i could think of)

Welp, looks like plenty of people are interested elsewhere, so it's on! I'll upload the contest theme and (current) participant list to my site shortly, and you can check it out there! I think you'll like this one!

As for prizes, I think for the start I'll just mention the winner on the main page, and do prizes later. This is just for fun, so the minute I add something like a money prize or whatnot it tends to take a turn in a different direction.

Midnight Rave Contest!

Alrighty, this should be fun! Your job is to make a totally whack-ass party-style map however you choose. It doesn't have to have any objectives or playing involved, just to be a total drug trip of a map to whatever extent possible in Starcraft (or your abilities). This can include stuff like dancing units, reaver scarabs flying everywhere, exploders, background music (keep the filesize down though, please)... anything! Party on!

This contest ends at 12AM (Pacific), 5-2-2004.

EDIT- I've extended the date to May 2nd, since I figure 3 days is a bit narrow to do something quality if you don't have a whole lot of time, so party on!

Actually Tux, you probably won't get many noob makmakers like me in your contest, cause we're all intimitaed by u....and your awesome maps...

I think it was great that you set up that website cause now i have the only two maps I'm missing from my collection of your maps

Well I'M not participating in my own contest, so don't worry there. This really isn't meant for pro map makers, as with just a few map revealers and some SF sprites you could probably make something interesting enough.
