Wat is torrent and bitorrent

hey everyone. i downloaded wow beta 2 torrent but i ahve no idea wat it is. i got the alpha version of wow also does anyone still play it or everyone switched to beta 2.

any help is appriciated

You don't need any knowledge about it because when you DL it it is a loader and when you click on the icon it should start downloading automatically. I am too tired to explain what torrent actually is.

what do i open it with. it has .torrent extension i have never seen that before
