I recently burned War3 from my friend, seeing as how I can't afford the $50 asking price for it right now (please note: I plan on buying it when I get paid). But after I installed it and ran it, it acted like the CD wasn't in the drive, when it (of course) was. Obviously it has some sort of anti-copied-CD device. I'm sure you've figured it out, but here's my question:

How do you get around this? I'm guessing cracking it...but the few cracks I've tried don't work. Please help!

Ok, theres really no way to get around this. Deal with it, support Blizzard, the greatest company in the world, and BUY THE GAME!!! Its worth ur $50. Trust me

Yea, since Diablo 2 they had the protector thing. I found an inconvenient way past it, however, it works best if your computers are near eachother. First you load WC3 with the real CD, then once you are in, put in the burned CD. WC3 will work properly from there, but if you try to start up WC3 again with the burned CD it won't work nd you will have to repeat the same process. It works great for me with D2 exp because my computers are right next to eachother.

Umm dude, you don't need the War3 CD in the drive while playing. It only goes in at the start to check the anti-copy thing and make sure you have a legal copy. I always take mine out, because my CD Drive makes a loud noise.

Ah, I kinda thought you didn't but I didn't want to take the chance of taking it out and getting my game messed up. Thanks for the info!
