Ok. My PC is great except for my video card. It's an integrated intel extreme card. Now, it's not terrible because it can still run games like Vice city, but it struggles with things like unreal 2004.

My question is: If i want to upgrade, I need to buy a new motherboard because it's integrated do I not? Also, since I am not the most knowledgable when it comes to hardware.. is the processor built into the motherboard? If so, when I buy a new one will I need to install new software?

Thanks for answering my n00b question.

No you do not need to buy a whole new motherboard. You just need to disable it.

No. The CPU (aka processor) is seperate from the mobo. However mobos only accept a certain kind of CPU.

What are your specs?

What type of ram, and I'm guessing the HD is IDE. Look for motherboards with socket 478 ,and if your computer is a DELL/Gateway ect. you may need a new case as well since most of the time they don't use standard ATX cases.
