Vicious cycle

i'm sure this was posted at some point on here, but i'm kinda in a hurry so after glancing through the about 10 of the 107 pages, i've decided to just ask

it seems as if the interaction between my LOD disc and D2 disc isn't good. when i begin to install LOD, it asks me to put in the Play disc. it installs about 80% and the rom slows when installing d2music.mpq, i believe. it then asks me again for the play disc, which is obviously already in the drive. i've tried removing and replacing it, switching back to the LOD disc, but it would always give me the Blue Screen of Death, demanding the Play disc it never reads. of course, this results in no LOD

is this an internal sound problem? drive problem? or data problem? any information would be awesome.

guessing for a broken cd problem or cd-drive problem. i had to install a other game from a other pc to mine ( lan ) if u got a lan that will (almost) always work

well it's definitely something wrong with the CD i guess. i tried it on a friend's computer to almost the same results. unfortunately, i don't have a lan. time to look for the receipt thanks for the help.
