Upgrading/W or A?

Which is more preferred when upgrading, armor or weapon?
with weapons you'll damage more yet with armor you'll do block more

i've been told that armor would be the best choice but i'm not sure on which to upgrade

if this has already been asked then ill delete this right away

okay put youself in this situation, youre going to counter, you have 200 gold/lumber your OVER food limit and you need to rebuild- to get that extra push in an attack, youd want to upgrade but which one ? oh and just to make things more complicating the goblin shops are occupied by a million creeps and your shop is destroyed.

If your NE, upg W first for hunts and archers, and armor first for Bears/Dyrads/MGs.

It is almost ALWAYS weapons first. Do you know why?

The more damage you do, the faster you can kill their units. That is way better than armor anyday, because you can micro to keep units alive. Armor just gives you more of a micro buffer. Attack helps you kill faster.

The only situation in which you might want to upgrade armor first is when you have a unit that starts with 0 armor (like ghouls for instance). In that case, you make sure you upgrade BOTH. Don't just upgrade armor because attack is what ghouls are good at.


Also, don't upgrade too much. Seriously, it is better to have more units than to have 10% better attack or 2+ armor. The only time that armor/attack upgrades matter is in FFA (where you have a limited number of units).

Get 1/1 in all units you plan on using then make more of them much rather then getting further upgrades except armor for tanks like MG's and Tauren. Really, though, tier 3 units damage looks MUCH better with lvl 3 upgrade.

Hi everyone, i'm new on this forum, that's my first post ^^.
Hmm I wanted to say something else... oh yes, english isnt' my first language, so if I make mistakes, feel free to correct me ^^.

With Ne, I prefer armor upgrade first, then weapons...
For the other races, I upgrade armor for melee units, and weapon for ranged units. Later,as soon I have the money &wood, 1/1 for all units.
