Though none of you care I'm posting it anyways. You've read my thread about needing help with college..well I took steps and got something accomplished.
I applied for Hocking College here in Ohio and just today got a letter of acceptance. I applied for their Wildlife Management program. Anyways..presently I'm not positive what to do about my financial aid situation.
My parents combined 2007 tax return showed that they made a combined total of around $100,000 for the year give or take. My parents will be going through a divorce soon, and I'll be with my mom whom only makes roughly $28,000 a year.
As far as the FAFSA goes it says that my EFC (Expected Family Contribution) is around $16,371 and with the present and future situation of our income I don't see that being able to happen. That being said I sent an email asking if any of the financial aid offered via Hocking college relates to specific need in terms of personal situations. And if not what would they would suggest I do about paying for tuition.
I'm not sure if there is much, but I don't know. Have any of you been in a similar situation and if so what did you do about financial aid? Currently I basically can get a student loan that won't even cover all of my tuition, and that counts books and/or housing as well.
