The UN blows and always will, especially know when they go against their stongest member.

They didn't enforce anything against Sadaam for almost 15 years, and now they cry when we do. Fack them.

Hey its not their job to care about a country if it poses no threat to anyone. Besides, lets wait till June 30 then US is going to leave Iraq and see how good of a job you did. Then make conclusions on who was right and who was wrong.

And not to mention France and Russia selling chemical warfare components to Iraq.

And there will probably be to much of the Baath party still in Iraq for anything to have done any good.

We need money, we make money, its our business and we are the only ones to decide if we are to do it or not. Besides right now most of the electicity in Iraq is provided by Russian electrical power companies who build power plants in Iraq, so we helping, and our UN representative did convince some nations to help US with Iraq.

The US isn't leaving once we hand power over to Iraq. Why? We will be like a security blanket. We'll have a lot less troops, but they will be changed from offensive occupational force to security/peacekeeper occupational force. We'll also set up military bases in Iraq much the same as we did in Italy and Germany and other ex-Axis power nations -- Japan included to a minimum.

We won't be leaving Iraq anytime, soon. You recall the occupation in Germany ended only recently in 1989. That was a 40+ year stay.

We have to work to give their country back, but we also dont want to repeat what we did in the gulf war... ditch iraq and let anyone who wants it take over. some troops have to stay until the iraqis are strong enough and stable enough to take care of themselves.

The middle east is a wreck as it is.. and the american forces staying there will only do so much.. Like in Korea.. the DMZ is occupied by American forces as well and South Korean and North Korean military personell... and its still just waiting to re-erupt. Iraq and the middle east is about the same.. w/o a dmz.. eventually it will all go right back to the way it was... It may take a little while.. but the fighting will really never stop..

If we treat it much the same way as we treated Germany, except without the split, it should go relatively smoothly. We will always have a presence in the Middle East, which includes Iraq and Soudi Arabia. Iraq was, in a sense, a country sized DMZ, by treaty, at least. Saddam Hussien broke that treaty using the Oil for Food Program, and the UN ignored him. In fact, the UN, and the world, seemed to ignore all news that came from Iraq -- from genocide to illegal arms purchases and research.
