British and Dutch police raids shut down the world's largest pre-release pirate music site

ritish and Dutch police today shut down the world’s biggest source of illegal pre-release chart albums and arrested a 24-year old man in an operation coordinated between Middlesbrough and Amsterdam.

The raids, which were coordinated by Interpol, follow a two-year investigation by the international and UK music industry bodies IFPI and BPI into the members-only online pirate pre-release club known as OiNK.

Seems like oink has been taken off line :(

I Wonder what is going to happen now.

Heard that in the news, he made some mega bucks before they caught him though. Its not the artists and producers that loose all the money, its the bastard record labels that overprice the work their artists made. Bastards..

Might not be allowed to talk about it, but anyone use any sites like it that arnt shut down?

I was a big fan of oink, problem is any site worth a crap is invite only and now that the oink forum is gone I am going to be hard pressed to get an invite any where else. :(

Sad, but I've never had an account there so it doesn't effect me much.

pretty damn sad. the quality of oink was unmatched.

i doubt the admins made much money though as the reporters and the miaa ifbi w/e alphabet soup organization paints it to be. i mean the place didn't have any advertisements at all. it was run pretty much on donations alone.

Well i dug around and came up with this forum.. Its more a kind of portal to other sharing servers, invites are handed out, the sites are talked about etc. It looks alright so far, you have to be a member 30 days to use the invite section, but its better than nothing.. http:// filesharingtalk .com/ il keep lookin though..
