Help!

I am trying to get the traps to work right.

I have tried:
Conditons:
Player 1 brings at least 1 men to 'trap trigger location'
Actions:
Enable doodad state for Floor Gun Trap for 'All Players' at 'Gun trap location'

Conditons:
Player 1 brings at least 1 men to 'trap trigger location'
Actions:
Enable doodad state for Floor Gun Trap for 'foes' at 'Gun trap location'

Conditons:
Player 1 brings at least 1 men to 'trap trigger location'
Actions:
Enable doodad state for Floor Gun Trap for 'Force 2' at 'Gun trap location'

I have also tried all the above with disable and toggle doodad state.... :shoot

The first one seems to work just fine with doors but not traps. I don't get it. Please help.

Yech. Are you still using the original Staredit? Its a nasty pain for the traps. Download SCXE and you can place traps as units instead of having them be a doodad. It makes basic trap placement much easier. If you're trying to do an ambush, download SCXE still. Just have a neutral player and give all the traps to him, and when Player 1 or whatnot brings a unit to a location by the traps, give all the traps to an enemy so that they begin to attack Player 1. Either way, SCXE REALLY makes trap placement easier. It also allows for trap placement on non-installation terrain.

Goody goody gum drops....SCXE crashes on my computer. I don't know if its cause i am using Win XP or what, but it just won't run. It will install but not run......

Anyone know the Star Edit version?

Luke

Big Fat Post Script: Thank you for mentioning this.....I just found that SCXE 2.5 works fine but 2.6 is the one that crashes.....
Cool.

Sorry then. I have no idea. I use Windows 98 here--seems like a lot more stuff works better with Win98 and ME than the newer versions. Sure, theres supposed "security breaches" (oh my!), but I could care less considering the only thing a person could rip off my comp that is private is my Starcraft name. Also, there are two versions of SCXE out. I doubt a different version would change anything, but if you want to try installing either SCXE 2.5 or SCXE 2.6 and trying it, one or the other may work. Or, if you're some hardcore Starcraft fanatic, you could always try installing a previous version of Windows with that CD collecting dust in the closet =P. And sorry, I cannot help with the Star Edit version. I'm lazy when it comes to triggers and always try to cut corners when possible, so long as my map is still neat and functional, so I have no idea how to work the traps.

Interestin enuf its 2.6 that won't run on my computer. 2.5 is fine. I am LOVING it. I have already 'fixed' several problems that were giving me an itch.
