Lightning Traps or Fire?
The type of traps you chose is total your choice, But i suggest that you chose Lightning Traps. Lightning seems to do more damage (i.e. 1-3105 Damage, The trap set by your assasin will either do 1 damage or damage leading up to 3105 damage, but in the end Lightning does more damage.)

Stat Points for Trapper!
Strength: Enought strength to use Monarch shield 156, (but remember enigma gives bonus strength hint: only put the strength req for enigma and let engima give its strength bonus mod for your shield.)
Dex: 136
Vita: Rest
Energy: None

Skill Points for Lightning Trapper!
1 to Fire Blast
1 to Claw Mastery
20 to Shock Web
20 to Charge Bolt Sentry
20 to Lightning Sentry
20 to Death Sentry
Rest to Burst of Speed

Body Armor

Perfect for a PvP or PvM Trapper.


A good alterative.​

Helmet

With this you dont have to put points into Venom.


Very, very Good.

Rings & Amulets

Two of these increases your health, by around 90 if your in the 90's


Maras is a good amulet for any character.​

Good for cast rate and increases skills by 2.​

Weapons


Must be aleast 4+ BO or you wont have enough health.


9 of these small charms should do the trick.


9 of these, try and get other mods (i.e. 40 to life?)

The Mf is nice, and god dammit have u seen the prices for pots lately?

and btw the jewels dont add trap dmg, they just help because they minus enemy resist (just wanted ppl to know)


cast dont really help with traps,

3 trap claws/someother trap skill claws are supposedly better, at least thats what they use on uswest.

(btw they use 2 of these claws)

to make up for the less resist, they usually go with fade since ur teleing ne ways/then again there are those godly hellfire toches and annihlus...

(but burst of speed i think is good for the ias)/shael also helps

Why u want Gheeds Charm ?,, i think its better to use The new Unique large charm..
And like Induhvidual says, then +% light dmg dont work with Traps.. so a 20/20 monarch is bad, cus u only get -20% enemy light res. And Griffon is kinda bad too, cus that give -20% enemy light res too and 1 all skills .. then Shako give more; 2 skills, good life and mana and 10 % dr. i think 2 claws with 3 traps and 3 light sentery give hella nice dmg.. and u get weapon block, and then u dont need points to dex for block, so u get more life.. also u dont have the Monarch so u save some points in str. = more life too..
For gloves i dont know why u want leech :S but i think magefist is good vs. casters with fast cast rate.. and then maby bloodfist vs. melee (good fhr, life) and then i dont see a belt, then i think: arach vs. casters( fcr, and 1 all skills) and then maby verdugos vs melee ( dr% and life.. )

why do you want venom? Just get shako.

and get mindblast for light immunes.

BTW facets dont work with traps. And Dual claw > shield, blocks everything :ufo

It doesn't add up dmg, been tested long ago.

Btw, this is not a guide, this is just smal lbuild. You asked us for a guide first, and I guess now you just copied most of our ideas into yours, you can't call it your 'guide' even if this was written as a guide.

wtf are u talking about buddy. I asked for one, so i created my assasin shes lvl 90 right now. So i decide to make a proper guide for other people to follow in the future and yes your very wrong the facet monarch works and i will prove it to u. My account is banned right now (thx 2 easymap) so i will go to a cafe and take a screenshot of my lightning traps damage before with the shield and after. GG

Stragies, Breakpoints, and more information on all fronts would be greatly appreciated. I like your train of thought as to what kind of traps, I found it humorous. I personally like fire traps. More skill required, less damage, and the fun stun factor.

I think this was supposed to be a guide, but it doesn't quite constitute to one yet. I do like the use of images though.

On a character build front, I prefer a 60% chance to block all skills than a 75% chance to block melee. It's such a great skill why not use claw block?

It shows up as damage, but isn't really there because traps are considered minions....im pretty sure cota said the best way to proove it..."go on open and make jewels that add 54858381% damage to traps, and watch how they wont kill anything"

What he said. Also, claw block rapes in general. So claws, then hellfire torch should be on there. Also, if you really want, you can put that lite facet or 2 in the claws for the -resist. And for more FCR just get some more small charms if you have room. Wips prjectors and raven frosts are good options against sorcs.

you dont need FCR for traps. Thats for mindblast or teleport.

you can't block all skills, but yea you can block most elemental skills which shields cant do...

but nonetheless, that guides horrible
