Tile colors?

i was wondering how people make there maps all those cool colors. Like what tile makes what color and how they can have for example desert and ice tiles in the same map?

You Can't have Desert and Ice Tiles in the same map. All the tiles have to be from the same tileset.

If you have StarForge, go to the terrain layer and then click on 'Palette' on the left side. A window will pop up with all the terrain you can use.
