EQ 2 is a very intensive game on... EVERYTHING. 512 mb ram is pushin it on low, a 128 mb radeon 9600 PRO would be the least I would use. at least a Pentium 2.4 ghz, or AMD equivalent. mind you, those would be ideal settings for LOW.

Yeah, ever quest 2 is hard on your machine. it sucks so much, it degrades the quality of you computer. Your computer is trying to protect itself from playing such a shitty game

512 mb is barely enough for eq2... I remember when i was awaiting the release and upgrading my computer, i had this game in mind, and i went to the game's website to check the minimum requirements for it, and it said something to the effect of "This game will require GPUs not even out yet to run everything on the highest settings". Of course now that SLI PCI-E exists, along with the nVidia 6800 GT, they do exist ^_^ But I have a mid range gaming computer, and it can play EQ 2 on normal decently.

Amd Athlon XP "Barton" 2800+ Core @ 2263, 1 gb Corsair PC 3200 ram, and a Radeon 9600 PRO @ 400/530. Keep in mind, this runs Doom III at high settings, and Half Life 2 @ max, and barely runs EQ 2 on normal, lol. You need a new computer, sir.

Um, no you do need it. There is a reason they are called requirements. If you don't have the required components to run something, it won't run >.>

You also need to realize that just because you meet the min requirements, doesn't mean it will run all that great. It will run mind you, and you will be able to play, just not well.

Ok, some games you can get by even w/o minimum requirements, I did it with FFXI as Darkmatter could tell ya, but EQ II you can't. You can hardly get by on what's listed under minimum requirements.

HOLY SHIT!!!!! Someone needs to get a 128MB DDR card sir. Because with AGP aperture and everything, ur really running your card at 32 MB.

As Pan said, your computer is probably trying to prevent you from playing a game that will enslave you.

And since we're talking about video cards, what is the Radeon equivalent of the GeForce 3?

"the requirements lie! the people that made this game know nothing of what it needs!!!"

-.- i find this a petty argument.

i remember back when i first got d2 and tried to play it (before my 4 year wait, when i had my old 95 w/ 2gig hd) i could play d2, but online singleplayer, and only for 10 minutes, (then my computer would throwup and restart)

lol...good ol' days...
