JOYCE, Wash. - A 13-year-old boy shot and killed himself Wednesday morning at a school in Joyce, about 15 miles west of Port Angeles.

Clallam County undersheriff Fred DeFrang said the boy walked into a portable classroom set up on the school campus and shot himself, in front of a class, at about 10 a.m.

The Peninsula Daily News reported on its Web site that the boy was an eighth grader.

Crescent Schools in Joyce were locked down after the shooting.

Grief counselors were on hand.

There are two schools on the site - the Crescent Elementary School with about 120 students and the Crescent Junior-Senior High School with about 110 students.

I saw it on the news today and was quite shocked.

Wow, that's really weird. So if anyone is thinking about killing themselves, do it at school, so they get the school closed down /sarcasm. Seriously, at least he didn't pull a columbine, and kill all the students.

And it wasn't even his class...he just went into a portable at the school, stood in front of the entire class and blew his brains out.

i really dont get how people can kill themselves....if they have the balls to shoot themselves, why dont they have the balls to fix whatever is wrong in their lives....cause their morons =D

Time doesn't always heal wounds. That's just a stupid phraze used to hide the true reality of things. Of course, most of the time things are fixable, and we usually blow our problems quite out of proportion, but not always.

Well I would be shocked If that was ten minutes away from my home. That is sad for an 8th grader to shoot himself, shows how easy it is too get a gun.
