After 3 months and a lot of nagging, my brother who works for the phone company talked to an engineer and had him arrange for DSL to be available in my area. Ordered it today, going to get it in a couple weeks. I know, everyone else has cable/DSL already, and I've had to suffer through 56k all these years while playing games like wc3 and d2 and having to wait horrendously long amounts of time for pages to load. OMFG DSL LYKE BBQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111!!!!!11oneoneoneoneone!!!!!!!

Not AS much. I think, the problem is the Wireless Card. might need to be replaced or something. I deifnatley neec new internet though too....

I never liked cable. My cousin has it and it seems rather un-reliable, although his speeds are usually around 400kbps down///200kbps up which is close to my ADSL.

My cable right now equals 4 mbit download and 512 kbit upload. For 10 dollars more a month although I can get 5 mbit download and 768 kbit upload.

same here. of course, for some ghey reason dsl isnt even available on my side of the railroad tracks. and paying the $60 a month for cable isnt looking too good to my parents. i think ill have to front them the cost difference, damnit.

my dad wants to wait for digitalpath(satellite shit), but i say hell no. cable now, and when dp finally comes here(which wont be until next year, after i graduate/move out) he can get it.

well its hella cheapass satellite. it has a gay monthly cap of like 2gb (and i think its gb, not gB), and is like 512/256 or some shit.
like $30/mo i think, but not even worth it really, since i would use up the limit in a week tops. i dl a gB every month or two off a 56k modem, ill be damned if im gonna dl less on a 512 kbps connection.
