On New Years 2007, I was in front of my old N64, with a case of Labatt Blue. My N64 was on, and I decided out of boredom I would play Turok 1 again. At 12:00, I was on Level 5, getting the Level 6 Key and draining the well to get to the Mantis.

After a while, I began to realize just how fun this game was.

Forcing enemies to kill each other. From duels to the death (Alien Infantry vs Purlinn), to one-sided combats (Blowpipe Ancient Warrior vs Flame Purlinn), to hilarious KOs (5 Leapers defeated a High Priest once).

Superior yet fun weapons (Particle Accelerator, Fusion Cannon etc.).

Plus, the challenge of getting Mortal Wounds. In the first game, there was a % chance of getting one if you killed a human type enemy with a knife or normal arrows from the Tek Bow.

I have played Turok 2 a little, but I got stuck on World 2 because I couldnt find the feather for the Leap of Faith power.

I was wondering if any of you were interested in the Turok series. I for one am, and I downright love it.

Well the newer ones that I've played were TERRIBLE!

The old ones for the N64 Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Forgot Name were pretty damn fun though. So I'm definitely interested in the Turok series!

I ROMed Turok about a year ago and had tons of fun. My mom wouldn't ever let me play Turok cuz it was too violent, hehe. I bought two when it came out, which was called Seeds of Evil, then I ROMed that one too right after the first. Played a little of the 3rd (Shadow of Oblivion) and then rented Rage Wars a few times and played it with my brother so much that on several occasions the images blurred together and I got an ungodly amount of headshots all in a row.

I have the Freeware version of Turok 1 for PC and the n64 version. It works quite well with my mouse and stuff except for 2 things:

1) The map doesnt work in the main levels, it works in bonus portals
2) No music.

I have the ROM for Turok 2. But I needed to install another controller plugin just to setup the controls properly. However, Project 64 1.6 runs it perfectly.

Besides, teh late Turoks were all about blasting aliens more than destroying dinosaurs and other things.

Have you figured out how to fix the inverted look?

For which game, Turok 1 or 2?

Oh, here is a fine example of just how much fun it can be :)

Turok was cool. I have the newest one...its not even Turok.... its like his cousin's brother twice removed or some crazy shit.

The original was awesome. Too bad I got sick playing those 1st person shooters. I can only play so long before I would get headaches, sweating like mad, blurred vision, plus disorienatation. lol

I'll look into it. I think it may have to do with the Controller Plugin you are using. I do know there is an option in-game for turning off Inverted Look.

I actually looked for the option ingame and didn't see it. I'm using the N-Rage plugin.

Yeah figured you would. I am using it too, my other one says I am missing drivers :(.

I believe the game was to be made with inverted look. I myself actually got used to it. And actually managed to kill shit like Raptoids and Endtrails with the Talons.

Hanyways, the only logical thing you could do is set the second Control stick controls to the opposite. Then lock your mouse and run it.

Also, turn off the Look Spring function in-game. That option alone will screw your viewing. If left on, it will set your Y-Axis back to normal if you dont touch your controller.

If you want, you can set the weapon change to Normal. Quick is you press A for example and all your weapons will appear in circles. Then move the control stick in the direction of the weapon you wish to use.

I also suggest you set Z and R (jump and fire) to your mouse. Save these configurations into a file.
