The game is alright so far. I'm guessing they had budget issues while making this, because the lack of detail in the characters themselves during battles and traveling, and for some of the special abilities, is extremely noticeable. It didn't bother me too much, since they used cel-shading for the in-game movies, dialogue cutscenes, etc, which was a huge plus. The dialogue itself bothered me at first, as it seemed like the characters' comments weren't very fluid to one another, and a few remarks made absolutely no sense. It seems like it was translated directly from Japanese, and poorly; at two parts they refer to my male character as 'she' and 'they'. I got over the whole dialogue thing though, as they used the actual voice actors from the series.
This will be the first turn-based RPG I actually like, since I usually don't care too much for them. I liked the system it uses for fighting, although it isn't the most efficient, it's at least non-traditional, which would probably make anyone who loves turn-based RPGs dislike this game. It could have been better without the retarded visual onomatopoeia, at least better than "Thwak!" in giant letters whenever you hit something. Another thing I usually don't like about turn-based RPGs is the system of random encounters, as I find having no choice and just being forced to constantly fight every two steps to keep my stats balanced is tedious and unbelievably annoying; sometimes you just don't want to fight. This game takes care of that, as you can leisurely walk to greatly lower your chances of being attacked, not to mention that any area where an encounter is definitely waiting for you is marked by a demon aura, making it even easier to avoid conflict.
The music and plot are pretty good, and with a ton of unlockables, lots of extra features like gardening, co-op tech, and friendship points, and two unique character narratives to play through, this game definitely has the potential for an extreme amount of playtime. However, if you're not a fan of the series, you probably shouldn't give this title much consideration; it's not likely you'll be able to easily overlook the game's numerous short-comings.
