Is it a good thing or isn't it? Knowing for a fact that any pain be it physical or emotional can't hurt you. Knowing that you can turn it on and off again at your own whim. Is it normal to be able to break a finger and laugh about it? Be pummled and hit in the back of the head with a 2 inch thick rod of one of the most solid steels around and just turn around and not care about it? Have your feelings trampled and be able to cast it aside as if nothing happened? Is it being completely dead to the world or is it the fact that you enjoy every ounce of pain shoved your way. Is it a bad thing to feel good about yourself when you hurt others? Is it right to live on others misery?

This is the question the sike of true insanity. Do normal people think like this? If they do, then why? This is no way for anyone to feel.

The real thing you are debating here, is why we live the way that we do. Don't hold back on what makes you happy, or what just gives you a momentary thrill. Indulge your thoughts and tell me what they tell you.

We it could be like being gay, your gay and theres nothing you can do about it. But instead you are a masicist (taking pain, i think). I have a friend who got his fingers broken and loved it. It is also like being automatically compassionate or caring. Also like being uncomfortable with peeing in public. Got a shy bladder myself.

I think emotional pain is much different from phyisical. Emotional is all about personal views. If you think there are others out there, or you think only this one.

Well, being unable to feel anykind of pain could be useful. In the right situation, that is. Say, a soldier in war. It would be great if the army taught them how to 'turn off' their pain.

As for the social aspect of this, it's not good at all. Pain, both physical and emotional, is required in human life. It's one of our necessary stimuli.

You want to have a high tolerance to pain. No one wishes to be a "sissy."

However, to not feel pain at all is a problem. For instance, if the nerves in your hands did not work and you could not feel heat, you could severly burn yourself without knowing(i.e. my brother..). Same thing for other types of pain, you may be mortally wounded without really noticing. Not good.
