Just keep mfing with your sorc till you get good gear, because barbs = suck for mf. They can't get to Meph or Andy nearly as fast.

I don't see what makes you think that it will be easier to be godly on a melee character than on a magic user. In fact, that idea is completely backward. If nothing else, with a magic character you can use vendor purchased +skills items to boost yourself when you're small, and at least have some power, if not defense, resistances, or strong equipment. With a melee character you're between a rock and a hard place on all accounts until you have a strong weapon, or two for that matter. Not to mention the need for defense and resistances, being as you have to be right in a monsters face constantly.

No.

1) all of that isn't spamming, its flamming

2) they are giving you advice. they trying to make sure you dont make a really stupid decision. keep mfing with your sorc. it doesn't matter if all your items are magic. if you built it correctly, you should have no trouble taking down nm monsters. and if you keep at it, you should eventually find SOMETHING of either mf value, or trade value. once you get that, you can mf more and/or trade it for something to help you mf more.

3) if you are going to make another sorc, make it a fo. easier to make cause of low-lvl synergies and more power.

4) creating barbs on 1.10 is for master players only basically. unless you have the entire imm-kings set or 4 mules full of the strongest uniques, chances are, its going to suck. horribly.

5) if you are SSSSSOOOOO disgustingly set on making a barb character, search the forum. there are a couple barb guides. conc, ww, berz, and such.

To be good in the beginning = have friends to help you out with a Mf Sorc. You do NOT need godly gear with a sorc to do sufficent Mf damage.

Observe:

My lvl 84 Blizz sorc does over 5k+ Blizz with all Mf gear and Synergies nearly maxed.

I don't use Hoto, or any other goldt runeword items. Nor do I use those hacked caster rings.

I got sorc gear on UsWest like shako/occy/lidless/skullders and tha basics that I don't use. So yea.

Spam is bad. ;)

However, if you couldn't extract meaning from the spam I wrote, allow me to lay it out for you really simple:

About sorcs requiring godly gear to be good, you are flat out wrong. In fact, they are the easiest characters to start out an account with. Barbs, on the other hand, require extremely costly equipment, and they don't have the ability to retain killspeed while wearing MF gear that sorcs do. In short, I only needed two words to get across the fact that you were dead wrong, so that's all I posted.

And lastly, there's plenty of advice floating around on the internet. Don't look for hand-outs in a forum.

I'm going with c9 on this one, barbs are the the suck for mfing in 1.10. They just can't compare to a Orb sorc raping meph, or raping andy. Don't make a MF barb unless you have godly equipment. Remember that.

Being a barb player, I agree with they aren't much for the mf, but then again it's best you look for runes in you're spare time instead of actual items if you're a barb.

The upside of barbs is they are easiest to lvl seeing as they are in a somewhat high demand in runs for their bo and with the right equipment and knowledge, they can't be killed.

Barbs are damned tanks. TANKS. Mine was super godly on non ladder, but so was his gear. Stick with a MF sorc, check out my guide on making one. Everyone on the new ladder needs one, as does anyone just starting out in D2(sounds like you.) So follow my guide, and MF as much as you can, and you'll find good stuff in time.

Well, the best barb, weapon's wise, is either a lance or sword. Since good lances are hard to come by, I suggest sword.

Now, your main skills are:
Whirlwind
Sword Mastery
Shout(defence)
Battle Orders(Life,Stamina,Mana)
BS(+1 to all skills)
Something Resist(Forgot what it's called. Basically improoves resitence)

Your sword will, most likely be two-handed, so a Shield is out of the question. Get some high-defence armor(700+).

Your boots and gloves had best be something with good resistence. For amy's, I suggest a +2 to barb skills, and 2 soj's for rings.

But, for starting equip, I suggest using Sig set. Pretty common set nowadays, so shouldn't be too hard.

I'm sorry I don't know more, but I'm a zon pro. Not a barb pro.

Sigon's is a pretty helpful starter barb equip, if you don't have any good equip. I'm am only giving advice to use this set if they don't have anything better.

If it is barb vs barb, +skills can help out alot. I have no idea who you've learned from, but majority barbs who are pvp use +skills. If their fighting a pali or sorc, then obviously, they switch to resist.

c9, i'm sorry but nowhere did I state or even imply that I was looking for handouts. I was merely asking for advice.
Sorry, when I said handout, I didn't mean items. I meant information spoon fed to you.

The old saying "teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime" applies. If you can be taught to glean your own information from places found online, and these boards, then I won't have to tell you how bad your ideas are anymore.
