The History on April Fool's Day

Way back a long time ago, when the Roman Catholic Church had their Holy Empire and pretty much ruled Western Europe. April 1st was the New Year's day. The pope decided to make a new calender in which New Year's would be January 1st. The reason we have April Fool's is, anybody who still celebrated New Year's on April 1st was the aim of all the practical jokes.
