The golden bird

When u complete the golden bird quest, u get a potion that permanently raise your life by 10. If you create another character and pass this quest, can you give the potion to your main character to consume?

Yes, and then that character wont get another potion from him.

First off it increases life by 20.

Also, I've tried this, and it woulden't let me consume it, saying "Impossible" or whatever.

I'm pretty sure Blizzards smart enough to figure out that people would exploit this if possible.

Yea, you would see people running around with 1000000000 life if it was possible. Blizzard may be stupid but they're smart enough to get that right.
