[Bowflex Power Pro XL]

I quit my YMCA membership about 3 months ago for the summer and instead of restarting my membership in September/October, I was thinking that I should invest in a Bowflex instead. The Canadian Bowflex website says that I can "own one for as little as $14 per month." and it sounds a bit tempting. I have always seen and wanted the Bowflex since I first saw it on television several years ago, but lacked the money and the motivation. Now the I have a job and am a lot more goal-oriented about things so the Bowflex idea seems more and more possible. I can easily afford the $14/month, and even if it was $28/month I could handle it. I want to know if anyone here has had experience with the Bowflex, good or bad, and to let me know if I should consider it. None of my friends have tried it Bowflex, but they seem to think that it is a good idea if I stick with it. I figured why not see if someone on BattleForums has used it.

I think it's a pretty nifty thing, myself. I tried it at Dick's sporting goods store once and I liked it. IS there a money-back guarantee?

Well then, you might as well give it a week with it to make your decision.

So that's what that thing at my dad's house was. I thought it was a bowflex. I don't know how often he uses it, but it doesn't really show. His build is like mine, lean and somewhat muscular.

I have a bowflex and it sucks. It takes forever to change the thing around to do different exercises.

$14 a month- for life.

On a more serious note I don't see the need for one right now. I would rather run and then use a bench for lifting. I know those only get certain muscles but for me its fine.

The bench press is one of the worst exercises to do. ;) But, that doesn't stop people from doing it. :D

I don't see how they only charge $14.00/month ($168.00/year). It would take me 100 months (8.3 years) to pay the bloody thing off. I'd rather pay atleast $100.00/month just to get it out of the way.

I also run and do push-ups (not really to gain mass, but just to try to retain the chest I have from the YMCA days), but I would like to further develop arms, back, basically everywhere. How often and far do you run AxL; just out of curiousity.

Could you explain how it was fun? Did it feel comfortable, etc.? Canadian Tire has food.. you just have to have a thing for beef jerky, mint gum and chocolate bars. :^)

I run a mile everyday. However I hurt my knee and I don't want to keep hurting so I run ever other day. Plus I have football starting in about 10 days and lots of conditioning. The last thing I need is a bad knee.

I do mostly pushups to increase my arm strength because I would rather spend money on my computer then a bench.

That is unfair.

The only thing I have at my house is dumbbells but you can't do every exercise with those. : /
