Well you know what they say... Evrything in the bible is true, but none of it happened. For instance, the lessons that it teaches are good ones, but as far as the ju-ju ressurection stuff is concerned, thats crap. and also we know jesus was a real person...so..

It's all based on Chinese whispers and stories, it's just unfounded crap. There probably was a delusional man called Jesus, he might of been smart and did something extraordinary and then all these other stories were based around that. There are very few things that are true in the bible. I wouldn't use the bible as evidence for a hypotheses.

Actually there was a Jesus who did do many amazing things, born in the same year and lived in the same time period or so we can find as of today. But he was married and had kids.

The Roman Catholic church through out that book of the bible and many others during the 3rd century.

And that is why I think its all crap.

The catholic church edited and hid the dead sea scrolls that suposedly would destroy the faith. Or atleast that is the idea as they will not let anyone see them.

Of course the Bible we know is like that, because the books to be included were chosen by men who were trying to promote Christianity. Anyway, I'm Christian and I believe in the death/resurrection, though I rarely look to the Bible for answers....

Actually, when archeologists are about to do a dig somewhere, the first place they look for direction is the Bible. Time and time again it has been proven historicaly accurate. That is the locations, civilizations; not necesarily the "stories".

Im not so sure myself, but if the social history has been proven correct...=\

It's also been proven wrong a few times too. Like with the city of Ai. In the Bible, it says the Israelites took the city and ravaged it, but recent archaeology studies show that, in fact, Ai was deserted before the Israelites even got there.

"The bible is a product of man. Not of god. The bible did not fall magically from the clouds. Man created it as a historical record of tumultuous times, and it has evolved through countless translations, additions, and revisions. History has never had a definitive version of the book."

I don't think you're a christian, you might be religous in some ways but you seem to be disagreeing with christian ideas.
I'm most definitely Christian, but just because I am doesn't mean I have to agree with the views of the Church or that I'm not allowed to have my own beliefs as well. What I'm saying is that yes, I believe in Jesus' death and resurrection, but I don't take everything in the Bible literally. I'm also not the kind of person who says, "God will pull me through this, I trust God will show me my purpose in life, etc." I believe in making my own choices, and being able to rely on myself instead of assuming God will just take care of everything for me. Also, when I'm looking for answers I don't usually look to the Bible...I try to figure things out on my own. I just can't bring myself to take everything the Bible says as truth.

ok here is one thing iv read in revelations.........even as we speak it is happening. it says that people will try to seperate god from things or even drive christians from the chruch. like from the plege of alliegence, they are trying to remove god from it. how are we gonna say the pledge from then on?

I pledge alliegence to the flag of the united states of american and to the republic for which it stands one nation under "God" indevisable with liberty and justice for all.

heh people have always tryed to destroy every religon it doesn't take a deity to figure that out.

As far as the pledge I assume we would say it the way it was prior to 1954 when Macarthy had it changed to piss off those dirty atheist communist...

"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

Ppl have been trying to seperate God from things for some time now. This isn't a recent occurence.

How do you say the pledge without the "God" part? If you really have to ask that, then you must not be very bright.

The bibel is like a thing u have said 2 a friend and he had said it 2 a friend an so on for very long and it may be true in the beggining but if it was it must have been very different from what it is now, cuz peopel have not wroted anything down from how early in the oldest thing that is writed is really that old if u think of how old humans are.

And my belives are about the bibel that it is a colection of the best storys (fairy tales) from all over a big area that some kinde of joker had used latter 2 tell fun tales for his master. 2 keep him happy. and it has been told for centurys then got lost and sum persone found it and said it was true thats it.
and the bibel that u can ready now is just a collektion book of diffrent storys, so why can't it be a fairy tale book with alot of storys?

and today all artist give out the best of "artist name", why could it been the best storys of (instead of artist)"that region the storys come from". And back then a writer (story teller was a artist) u know could not record music back then, but u could write down storys.
