The Art of Scaming...

Before you read this detailed list of scams and ways to prevent scams please vote, im quite interested in what the results will be.

Well lets start off easy, what is a scam: A scam is designed for your items to be givin up, lost, destroyed or taken.

Now i have scamed before sadly, but i havnt tried all of these and I think this will serve as a good scam prevention. If ya all like this sticky it.

--CHANNEL SCAMS--

1) IM GIVING ACOUNT AWAY WHISPER ME AND ILL CHANGE MY PASS TO WHAT YOU WANT!

- ok this is the oldest trick in the book so i thought i start here, it might of worked 3 years ago but no one is really gona give out thier same pass to be changed too. Plus evreyone know abou it.


2) This one has got some people to loose their whole accounts: JOIN A CLAN JOIN A CLAN, FREE SOJS EVERY WEEK! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TELL US YOUR RANK! you: uh how do i know that? TYPE /dnd *acount name pass b.net rank AND ITLL COME UP!!!

- well if you dont know dnd means do not disturb and then they whisper you get ur pass and acount and thier off, this one has been out for mayB a month or 2.

--INVENTORY SCAMS---

1) This can be done or used against u with almost any item... They show a unique , then remove and show it several times and just switch with a look alike. You hit trade without looking.

-This can be obvouis and easy too see if you have seen it before if not watch out.

2) (a more complicated version than 1) Shows item.... full inventory... O one sec.... (supposidly cleans out invenotry) comes back nothing works... He says try it quick and itll work... then you keep tryin and he switches witha look alike at the 10th try and you get scamed.

- Dead give away if you aint that new.

3) Shows item, o no! my keybord is broken! exits out of trade within 1 second. Repeats 5 times and says ok just hit accept fast... and you know the rest.


- THeese are the old scams and work more than you think.

--POPING A CORPSE---

Wut is poping a corpse?? It is when all your items in your inventory fall to the ground after you have had a mean trick played on you let me explain.

1) WANA DUPE THIS IS HOW!: ok fil your inventory with anything and come outside... then he kils you and says come out and pick up this item.... you pick it up then go get your corpse: you get all your items in YOUR INVENTORY BUT WOW UR CORPSE IS STILL THERE!!

Amazing huh! not really wihtout a corpse wen they kill you the second time all your items fall out and they pick up and leave.

2) the exact same way except using an item as a curser... works the same way.


--HACK SCAMING--

1) Trade Hack: If you ever trade and the item comes up imediatly and your like wow thats fast then dont trade with him b/c its a trade hack... if your not sure ask to move hit around , if he cant its because he cant even see it and its a hack. DONT FALL FOR THIS ONE!

2) D2HACKIT!: Person says: LETS DUPE! He tells you to get d2 hack it and then you get it and he says ok lets do this: then he says ok put 1 soj out in the corner and type .send 498357983(or wutever the numbers may B) Then you do that he tpes .recieve and presto he gets ur soj and nothin is duped...

---OTHER SCAMS---

1) I actually heard this one in this site sry i dont remember who is was so i cant give u credit: IF an aassasin tell you to go outside and drop item and then he runs "a dupe program" then dont even think about it b/c he gona have traps there and gona go hostile and kil u and go get item::: not sure if it really works.

2) O WE CANT TRADE IT IS MEST UP GO TO ACT 3 AND DROP UR ITEM AND COME BACK AND ILL HAVE MINE DROPED TO... DONT BE THAT STUPID!

I dont use any of these anymore and i dont scam anymore i have gotten past that newb stage but many have not so watch out.

Here are a few more scams...

You join a game called Anni for offer or 38% Gheeds here. You show them your offer, they like it, they say go to act 2, the palace. So you go there, he tells you to stand up top while he stands on the ground. He says, on 3 drop yur items and I will drop my anni/gheed. So he counts to 3 and both of you drop your stuff then you start running around to get his items while he acts like he is running to get yurs. Then he runs back gets his anni/gheeds while his friend comes out of the harem located in the back of the palace and snags all your items and squelches you and leaves.

Same thing in act 2 by the south sewer entrance. You stand on the stairs, he stands up the stairs, you drop your items, his friend comes out of sewers and snags your stuff, squelch, leave.

Another one is the wall trick. The tell you to go inside the tavern in act 2, where atma and geglash are. You stand all the way up against the south wall, then you both drop your items, you both start running to get the items, he runs back, and wut do you know, he picked up yur items thru the wall!!!

This can also been done at the wall in act 5 like 1 foot south of the wp, and west of the private stash.

darn voted wrong i voted i havn't been scammed, then I realised someone tried to scam with this: I'll let you have my acc just type /dnd your password back in .09 almost fell for it, but got suspicous and tried out what would happen and also whispered so i only almost got scammed

haha i think i might be the best scammer on here, i had a bot going (spam bot) and i'd come home from school everyday with about 100 e-mails of accounts from newbs thinkin they were getting free stuff cuz i was quitting and stuff like that, granted only 10 of those accounts were worth keeping. another scam was the assassin one, where me and two other friends said we were in a clan, i had my traps out, and my other friend had his uber barb and the other friend had his sorc, i'd drop my items, pick em up then the other friend with the sorc would drop his thus completing the trust test, when the newb would go out to drop all of his stuff, once he was naked a lil hostile button action and bam he's dead and i got all his stuff. easy huh? well that don't work no more now when you go in town your traps dissappear...so much for me gettin stuff easily
