Where do I go to rescue Luigi/Wario? I can't seem to be able to find it. Please give as indepth answers as you can (Please no external links)
Thank you.
Thank you.
You forgot to mention that you will need 14 stars in order for the Boos to appear there.Pan said:To get to the mansion you head straight as if you were going down to the basement, but instead of going down, turn to the long hallway (there should be a ghost in it.) Once your in the back garden area, you should see a bunch of ghosts. Take out the ghost that has a little cage thing, and you will enter the mansion.
There are no green blocks/blue blocks in Mario 64 DS. When Wario gets the red block he becomes metal, and Luigi walks through walls while Mario can either get wing cap or float likea baloon (similar to Super Mario World) and Yoshi breaths fire. Which I why I didnt include the original walkthrough to get the blocks from the original 64.Hellwolf_36 said:You forgot to mention that you will need 14 stars in order for the Boos to appear there.
The three cap locations:
Wing Cap (Red Blocks): You will need 10 stars to activate the sunshine in the main room. Look up into the sun and you will teleport to the sky. Follow the trail of coins you see to fly thru coin rings (each ring has 2 red coins). The star, and the switch are on the castle tower. Land there, pound the switch and collect the Star.
This cap allows Mario to fly.
Vanish Cap (Blue Blocks): You will need access to the basement (Beat boswer in the Dark World). There should be a path in the basement that takes you do a pool of water. Swim into it and keep going till you see two platforms and a sign. Pound the Ground on both platforms and the water will shrink. Go through the door and you will be in the moat, except dried up. Go into the hole to go to the Vanish Cap stage. Complete it to get to the Vanish Cap switch. Getting the Red Coin star is another thing... you will have to be careful how you slide at the beginning, since 3-4 of them are there.
This cap allows Mario to walk thru some walls, also monsters cannot hurt him as they will walk right through him. Combine this with the Metal Cap to get Star 6 in Dire Dire Docks.
Metal Cap (Green Blocks): Once again, you will need to go to the Basement. Enter Course 6 (Hazy Maze Cave, the one with the metal liquid on the floor). Once inside, go to the area where you meet the Sea Creature (Star 1). Except, lead him to the area with the double doors (I think, the other one takes you to long jumping place where you can get Star 3). Once thru, fall into the metal liquid into the Metal Cap Stage. After the tunnel in that area. Look to your left and go up the path, you should find the switch at the end of that place. The Red Coins will require the Metal Cap in order to not only get some of the coins, but also the Star. Be careful here, since the water current will lead you to the waterfall where you will be thrown back into the moat. So be sure you dont enter the water without the cap.
This makes Mario all metal and unable to take damage from monsters. Also, Mario can walk on water and cannot be pushed around by currents.
Get to Yoshi (if he is still there): Collect all the stars in the game and the cannon outside the castle will be activated. Fire yourself onto the roof of the castle and talk to him.
Other hacks/tricks (if they still work):
The Bunny Trick: Once you get 15 stars, a rabbit will hop around the basement where the enterance to Lava Lava Land and Shifting Sand are. Catch him and bring him to the door to the main room in the basement. Drop him in front of hte door and open it. Then go back inside. If you pull it off, the rabbit will be on the other side. Carry the rabbit to the 30 Star door. Leave him directly IN FRONT of the door. Turn your back on him and do a backflip onto him. If you do it right, you will "clip" right thru the 30 Star door without having to collect 30 stars. After this, you can collect Star 1 from Dire Dire Docks and fight Bowser. Simply cancel a star in Dire Dire Docks to escape, or pay the 30 stars if you manage to try this before getting them.
Stair trick: At the top floor, there should be a star door that requires you to have 50 stars to open. Go to near the bottom of the stairs, and do a long jump, but aim it backwards. If you rapidly do it, you will eventually go really really fast and clip right past the 50 star door. Do it at the Never Ending Staircase to break the loop without having to collect 70 stars.
The speed run with 16 stars uses both these hacks and in-level shortcuts. The fastest run I have seen for 70 Stars is 1 hour. But I am not sure if they removed those clipping issues.
Once you got those, getting the stars is no problem.
