15-bone wall
15-bone prison
spirit will be doing ok damg with plus skills, (enuf to kill that monster for CE anyway) and you will have good def with bone armor, just another route you can take

If you got all the extra points dump a few to CE, max that if you can its amazingly good on pack of monsters or even cows.

If you got the resourses for it get a DOOM for the slow effect and then get a few into fire golem for the added elemental damage. A fire golem is really handy against diablo as you probably know.

Oh yeah, but Slow on Clay is near 45% with only one point. After I max out CE, I'll get a point in Fire Golem.

Here's my gear at level 66 (I don't have any really good rings to xfer to him, so yeah).

Helm: Shako
Armor: Enigma
Weapon: Carin Shard (Haven't traded for Arm or something else yet)
Shield: PDiamond 197% Homonculus (probably upp it for kicks)
Belt: Goldwrap (Yeah...I know)
Gloves: Trangs Gloves
Boots: Marrowalks
Ring 1: 7% Manald 8 Rep
Ring 2: 7% Manald 7 Rep
Amulet: Don't remember, but no skills

No charms, yet. My main concern right now is to get an Ohm for my CTA, then I'll try for charms. I'll try for a Doom last.

Skills:

20 Mastery
20 Skeleton
10 Mages (Yeah, I was at 6 when I noticed, so I went to 10)
1 Revive
1 Lower Resist
1 Bone Armor (Synergy is good, near 600+ absorb)
All rest will go into CE

How's that sound so far?

Well, that's the thing- I don't have anything (right now) to replace them or I would do it in an instant.

that build is really good as is, I suggest go with a metalgrid ammi, you might get rid of the golem problem their,(not sure but it would be sweet if you could have 2 golems running around) but it has an amazing def mod. If your low on resist get maras of course. Unfortunitly both are a bit expensive.

You also stated your going to get a might merc, what gear will he be wearing? I suggest some DR for obvious reasons, and BotD, or even get him a DOOM.

I dont remember the stats on Arm, is that better then White wand?

Well, I just maxed out CE, and will be trying to max out Clay Golem for uber slowness.

My Merc will use "Ral" Andy's head, Upped Shaft, and a Bonehew. He'll be good enough to survive hell baal runs with the damage and leech, as well as 12 other skellies around him doing at least 700 damage.

And I don't think you can have two golems out. Just like using a real skill and a charged skill. Won't let you cast them at the same time if there are casting delays.

Clay Golem Slow: 53% (3 points base so far)

20 CE ROCKS, I suggest EVERYONE to max this skill on these characters. 12 yard CE is nearly one full screen = godly pwnage.

Arm is the best wep for any summoner.

Do mages work if maxed? Sure, I have 2 summoners, one with no mages and full trangs with a clay. He pwns all sections of the game with AMP and might merc.

The other uses enigma with maxed warriors/mages. Use AMP/might merc and teleport in front of the enemy and you win, kinda easy.

Both work well as long as your summons stay around you.

Yeah, I used that tactic (Amp + Tele on top of them). Works very well. I put 10 points into mages, but I rarely summon them. My Skeletons do just about all the work.

Sorry I saw this thread too late. I answer now.

If you're going to be a pure summoner for pvm (and a pure summoner pwnz ALL in the game without no problems), you have to max mages, cuz they are really helpful against physical immunes and against physical immunes whose immunity can be removed by curses, cuz their physical resist after the removal remains high and the skeletons can be very slow to kill them (Wraiths, for example, or other immunes).

If I had to go strictly pvm and I wanted to use summons, I would certainly max these skills:

- Raise skeleton
- Skeletal Mage
- Skeleton mastery
- Corpse explosion

I would give 1 point to Amp and Decrepify, and 1 to Bone wall, Golem mastery, Clay Golem and Summon resist. I would NOT waste points into Revive, cuz Revives are too stupid, and totally useless. The remaining points are your thing: you can go for Bone wall to get a better absorbption rate on your Bone armor, or for Clay golem to have more life / stats on him. But trust me, Revives are a waste of time, mana and skill points. If you really don't know how to put remaining points, go for bone spear to gain some magical damage while your minions fight, but I repeat: Revive SUCKS.

Fire golem and Blood golem are the worst golem of the game. They can't just kill or be useful. The only useful golems are Clay (for slowing enemies and cuz it has tons of HP = a real tank) and Iron, cuz it can be made from an item which has aura on equipping, and can have that aura after it's been raised.

And this is the gear I will use for a summoning necro (like the one I just wrote above):

Enigma Light plate
Shako [Um]
HotO Flail
Boneflame +3 [Um]
Marrowwalks (bug = pwnage for your absorb rate on BA)
Trang gloves
Arachnid mesh
2x SoJ
Amulet +3 summoning skills +9x / 100 life or Mara if you can't afford the magic amulet

Switch: CtA + Lidless

Grand charms with +1 to summoning skills and 12 fhr (to catch the 26% or 39% bp)
Annihilus
Resist lightning / fire small charms to max the resists to those elements in hell

Might merc (= more damage on your skeletons)


And you = pwnage.

Remember: for a summoning necro, Enigma > Bramble cuz you can get total control of your minions.

Yeah, I was using Enigma on my nec, and put 10 in mages, 20 mastery, 20 skellies, and maxed out CE. The rest of my points were going into Clay Golem for massive slow, and a might merc. I loved the Curse a monster then tele right on it and it's instant-death with skellies doing crazy damage.

bone mages are useless in 1.10,put 1 point in it is enough.AD and DEC is important to a summoner
