try the following:

-update your video card's drivers
-increase your agp aperature size (only do this if you've got lots of ram to spare)
-decrease the number of programs running when you're playing games (get rid of everything you don't need...including antivirus...anything that'll hog your system's resources)
-get direct x 9.0c
-turn down your in-game graphics settings

(the above is based on the assumption that you don't want to spend any money...oh, and please post your system's specs here)

um...get yourself a proper graphics card...on-board graphics cards don't work well with games...

another one?
you're using the graphics thing built into your motherboard...as far as I can tell...you don't have a REAL graphics card per se...(though if I were you id open up your case and check if you actually do have one and you're just not using it)

If you actually do have a graphics card, then its just a simple case of disabling your motherboard's on board-graphics card and enabling your proper graphics card

If you don't...just go out and buy one...just about ANYTHING's better than what you're using right now (at most you'll spend like $100 or so)

------There's gotta be some newer drivers than that.

Also, since it's doing this in online game you might want to try redownloading Shockwave and Flash players over again.

-edit-

Is this Presario a desktop or a laptop?

BFG 6800 GT = $400 & chumbo.com or $399 + tax at your local best buy.

Get that or ATI 9800 or x800 pro for under $500. But take note that these are all very high end cards and you could get fine performance from an ATI 9600 XT.

But. You also have to be able to support AGP graphics cards on your computer. labtops do not support vid card updates unfortunately. (well Alienware does. but thats another issue)

Ah, ok. Well Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, etc wouldn't run too well on a built-on card, but since it is a Compaq you might wanna give their Tech Support a call. If you do end up having to replace the videocard, you might be able to do it for free through them if your computer's still under warranty. If not, http://www.newegg.com is a great place for compter parts. However, if I were you, I would probably want to have someone (if you don't know much about it yourself) to inspect the computer inperson. I say this b/c advice from forums/sites can't always be trusted. =P

you don't have to spend $500...$100 should do the trick (but then again...it really depends on what sorta games you're interested in...)...you don't have to get the best of the best...something mid-range should do nicely... (do you happen to know what motherboard you've got? you'll want to check if it supports AGP...)

Geforce 6600 coming out soon, it'll cost $220ish I believe. Wait for that if you want a quality card for a good price. I think there's an x600 just like it, too. I wouldn't suggest a 6800 or x800 on your system, that'd just be a waste of money (your computer couldn't run it very well...). If you don't want to wait for these cards to come out, just get a Geforce FX 5900 XT at Best Buy.

Oh yeah... if all you're playing is Starcraft, then spend like... $50 (or less) on a Geforce2 MX400. Great card.

Go to www.tigerdirect.com. They've got a lot of stuff there, and you can usually find something cheap, although occasionally there is a rebate attached. I built my own computer off of it for the same price as it cost a year later. If you ask me, thats pretty decent. If you don't see anything there right now, and you're patient enough, then just wait for a few weeks and come back. There might be something on a blowout sale by then.
