Dear Steam User,

We have been having recurring problems with multiple user(s) signing on to the same account, ergo; several people using the same account from different IP Addresses at the same time. In order to prevent this, we are authorizing a validation process, in which you, the contact e-mail registered to Steam, e-mail us a code in which you authorize everytime you login to ensure that no one shares your account. To validate your account within the next 5 days (otherwise it will be deleted), respond to this e-mail steam.support@hotmail.com in the following format;

Its probably just like the scam where they ask for your social security number etc. Look at the sites privacy policy and see if they never ask for your pass or something, if not your screwed :-\

i think you can get some legal action going here.

try this:

forward the email to hotmail, asking for an ip adress of the user, and then forward all this to the police. im sure they can do something about it because its like identity fraud. if they dont, forward it to steam, they might do something about it(but a lot of companies are lazy and wont do anything about it other than telling you to never hand out your username and pw) since you bought the software, i would assume its against the law so maybe you can get some legal action going against the perpetrators.
