IMPORTANT: Uninstall any previous version of StarForge you currently have before installing this.

Features
More efficient minimap
Autosave
Undo & Redo

Bugs Fixed
Fixed typo preventing warning when opening map with too many triggers, etc. to be displayed
Deleting trigger or briefing deletes strings when necessary
Subscript out of range error when saving certain triggers
Trigger editor saving escape characters incorrectly
Trigger editor displays AI scripts "Disruption Web Here" and "Recall Here" as "Nuke Here"
Unit Settings editor crash on color click after closing and reopening
LeaderBoardScore trigger not saving scoretype

NOTE
I have now removed the VB runtimes and common controls and stuff from the installation package to reduce its size. If you don't have them you will need these files: http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=368

Sorry I've been sitting on this for so long. This will probably be the last release of this program before I start work on recoding it (if I do). Unless, of course, there are some critical bugs that are easy to fix.

Feedback, suggestions, and bug reports should be sent to starforge_feedback@hotmail.com or via AIM to StarforgeFB.

Hmm... I unziped, ran the Setup, then I went to Start menu, and clicked on it to start, and...

Component 'Mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

And yes, I did download Common Controls. But perhaps they are not in the right place?

that too... I'll get this version..say...after my love of HL2 stuff is satisfied. BTW, XFIRE ROX!

i think all the bugs people are getting is probably because Heimdal may be using a newer version of VB (you do use it, right?) which might not be compatable with previous versions... just a thought!

You extract it to anywhere you want. But you install it to your computer's system directory which I think it automatically does it for you. I don't think that made a lot of sense.

Hi. I have just downloaded StarForge and it seems to be working great. One question though.

Is there any way to edit the music files in Starcraft? I can't figure it out. I tried using triggers to play custom music tracks in the Starcraft editor but I have only had limited success. Even then they come over the sound effects channel so the standard music has to be muted.

Any ideas?

It's best if you don't edit the original music files in the Starcraft folder. There was a way to do that(I think you can still do it). But, if you do that, nobody else would hear the new music files in battle.net unless their music files are changed to the same thing in their Starcraft folder.

I'm getting the same thing. Does anyone know how to fix it? If not, could someone walk through installing StarForge and the common controls to make sure I performed it correctly? I used the default paths.

All activex control files (*.ocx) should go in windows\system32.

Here's a little trick to do this the easy way:

1. Download and install StarForge 2.1 (http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=166). Remember, always install by running setup.exe, preferably from inside the zip file.
2. Open regedit (start->run "regedit")
3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
4. Delete the StarForge folder (in regedit)
5. Delete the StarForge folder from your hard drive
6. Download and install StarForge 2.2 (http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=1525).

Thanks, it worked ^_^

Out of curiosity though, I noticed an option to increase the map size, maximum units and so forth. However, when I tried to employ one, forge crashed. What is the "real" maximum?

ive noticed that all the versions of starforge ive tried could easily screw up maps and make them crash starcraft if you try to play them or edit them, is this one any better?
