Sourcing from harddrive?

i am trying to remember the quickest way to source from harddrive

i remember in school we used to do something like src=".../file/whatever">

but i just can't remember, anyone know what i am talking about?

I don't understand your request.

You can access by using \s instead of /s

Though you can stick file:// and use /s in place of \s

how do i source an image or file from a specific folder on my harddrive with as little typing as possible?

There isnt really anyway you can shorten the url. You have to use the actual path of the image or it will not work. Why would you need to shorten it?
