My soundcard blew today! I have NO sound at all! My speakers work fine, I pluged them into my CD player and they work fine.

I pluged my headphones into each jack on the PC, NO sound at all! I pluged the speakers into each jack, NO sound! I checked all the audio settings, all fine. I checked the volume, not muted and cranked all the way up, still no sound! This is startin to get on my nerves!

Suggestions for the best soundcard replacement for a Sony VAIO? I NEED sound! I can't live long like this!

Call sony up and get a replacement. If that doesnt work, try the Tech Forum here.

I checked my speakers, work fine.
I checked each jack, no sound from any of them.
I shut the thing down and left it off for a few hours, still nothing.

Took it into Best Buy, they started it up, sound works fine. Turns out my PC just wanted to go for a ride.

So I wasted 30 minutes of my day! Oh well, guess you can close this thing now that this topic is worthless.

I'm just happy I got sound!

I bet when it worked for then you felt like an idiot, right?
And i think its a problem with VIOS because my PCV-RX540 does the same thing once in a blue moon, but my Dell Desktop/laptop and my compaq have never done it. They all run 24/7 mind you.
