So I just got home today from surgery..

Had an Appendectomy. Thought I had some really bad gas pains for a good while..9 hours later was fed up with it and went to the hospital..after some tests were done they realized I had Appendicitis. Push came to shove..boom..surgery in the morning.

So ya..I stayed overnight last night..had it done yesterday morning..fun fun..the nurses/doctors were surprised at how well I handled it and the Anesthesia..no nausea, was able to eat/drink almost instantly, and was up and moving/walking with little trouble. Pretty sweet..so now I'm home with a bottle of Percocet and a week off from work. Weee.... >.>;

I had appendicitis when I was 15. Mine was near burst, the pain was unbearable that I couldn't walk. I had surgery that day, stayed over night, then left. I didn't vomit or feel nauseous from the anesthesia or need help walking around the next morning. It hurt to sit up, but walking wasn't hard at all.

I don't think it's common to stay more than one night for this kind of stuff.

Jenny: Ya, its a normal overnight thing..I was just saying that basically I did well through the whole process..was happy with that fact

Sean: I don't have insurance either..well yet..it starts May 1st..such bad timing! They had a social worker come in and explain that they could cover any costs that were incurred at the actual hospital, but any sort of tests/xrays/etc that were sent out would not be covered, but she also said I could contact those agencies and see if they could help cover part of the bill too.

All in all my current daily routine is wake up, take some percocet, eat a little, go to sleep..rinse repeat..I'm trying to stay awake after taking percocet..it's a struggle at times. But after today I am going to start weening off of the medicine so that'll be nice. Besides..one can never have too much extra percocet laying around! =P

I myself haven't had an Appendectomy yet, but eventually I may end up doing it. It's good to know that you were fine and came out ok.

The only removal surgery I have had was Wisdom Teeth when I was 18. One of the teeth was sideways and growing towards my chin while the other 3 were going up and down. But after a few hours, I was able to eat. But a quarter of my mouth was frozen for 2 days and I had to go to Smackdown in much discomfort a few days after.
