If on the FAFSA I selected Yes to the question asking if I'm supporting someone other than a spouse or child from now until Jun 2009 because my brother is living with me for free..is it going to matter that he's not been claimed on any taxes considering he didn't move in until recently and the FAFSA goes off of your 2007 return?

I ask this because it's the only thing according to FAFSA that will qualify me as an independant so I can get more aid for school.

Unless you claimed his as a dependent they won't count it.
Well the question asks if currently someone is staying with you. It doesn't ask if someone has been staying since 2007. Just from NOW until June, 2009. So technically he wouldn't be a dependent on my taxes, but he is a dependent currently.

FAFSA is so hard to get in the first place, its crazy. IDK how deep they look into your record and everything like that. Call and ask.

I think he meant to say that aid was hard to get. Maybe? Idk..

Ya..well I'm supposed to get my FAFSA results in a couple days so I guess I'll wait and see what they say.
