I got a call from this grocery store I applied at. My mom left a note saying to call them back if I want a job. I'm pretty sure they want to schedule an interview.

I'm wondering if you guys can give me any tips for the interview..like how to seem like I'm worth hiring..

Please only post if you have advice that will actually help me. Nothing retarded like "give him buttsecks lolz!1".

ya man im a pro at this just go in wear somthing formal like a dress shirt and nice cacky pants (spelling...) umm b calm dont act nervious and act like u know u can get this job so they know u got balls.. dont wear earrings or make ur hair all like i dunno in a gothic way lol.. look like u ****ing know wat ur doing and ur a nice polite hard working male who is very enthusitic about getting this job TRUST ME it works alot and thats just the basics..

u gotta call them asap though.. and try set up an interview dont let them bring it up and good luck with it

Try to be professional, Ask how are you, be friendly, and somewhat like that..

dont lose your eye contact, look like your actually interested... something I learned from career class last year.

And you should tell them about any experiences you had for these kinds of stuff.

but see u dont understand how buiss world is runed now a days go ahead walk in with a mohawk and nose rings and dark makup and gothic clotheing and act like ur bored.. when u get to high school u will understand everyone wnats a job cause they can get one now and they need money so every1 is sending in apps u have to b the best and b the prime cut to get in they got many other peeps waiting to take the job.. ive been through 4 jobs had over 3 years experince workin and last several years i have gone in marketing, mrt econ 1 and 2, buiss and mrt, accounting, buiss managment, advertisement and sales... i think i would know but w/e u say lil man

Be yourself. If they make stupid judgements about you based on appearance and one meeting. It says a lot about the store and how they'd treat there employees. It's not worth it if you have to be someone else.

If I start proofreading your posts, you, obivously, isnt going to get ANY jobs in the world.

Of course I know that, but is it necessary to wear formal clothing and dress shoes, FOR GROCERY STORE?!!?! hell no, Im not saying you should go all spikey and wear those 'gothic' cloth, Im just saying, be your self, because you arent going to be wearing formal clothes everyday when you work in grocery store.

i totally agree with u on that but still it just looks better for u when u wear it.. i guess u could say its "Bonus points" when u where a dress shirt and some nice black pants.. no need for a tie or a full suit.. all i met was try to look ur best and act very intrested and like u said give full eye contact.. and that really impresses them most of the time

Dude...it's a grocery store, more than likely you won't even have to have a real interview >.< They will pretty much just be telling you when to meet for orientation and their expectations of you...and give you paperwork. It's no biggie.

They set it up for Monday at 4:45. I couldn't make it then, because I'd have no ride. So I tell them that and they say "Well call us back if you can make it."

So I call my mom and she says she'll take off work early. So I called them back and got it taken care of.

One question..if they are looking for adult baggers, why would they even give me an interview date?
