I played for maybe 20 minutes. My computer runs it pretty well and i'm getting good fps while everything still looks nice, this game isn't "HOLY FUCK IT'S AMAZING" or anything but it's a nice change from WoW's monotony.

I got to level 2 (Or Rank 2, as they say) as a Black Ork. I know, i'm the most unoriginal person in the history of histories. I go from playing an Orc Warrior on WoW to playing a Black Ork, both of which tank. But they look so awesome and let's face it, green iz bestest. I have already found two green items, one of which being shoulder armor, so i already look awesome.

My very first quest, after i accepted it, the Ork said "Do dis, or i smash yer face in!". I kinda stood there emoting him with things like /waaagh and /dance, but when Orks try to /dance, they actually grunt and refuse to dance, hahahaha.

This isn't a "I'm quitting WoW for WAR" post, but if i still enjoy it past the trial then it's tempting to pay for a month. But bleh, it'd really suck cawk to play it on my own.

I played the shit out of this game when it first came out for about 3-4 months. I was on Steves balls about him coming and playing with me cause it's really no fun when you solo.

But, I quit after I was able to get characters to ~lvl 30 within a weekend just by doing the battlegrounds and abusing game mechanics for uber damage / uber xp. (hint, when you go into a scenario -- the battlegrounds of WAR -- it brings up a panel with "scenario parties". click leave party, join party 5 as solo, and you'll get around 5-300% more experience.) I've literally taken a shadow warrior and went from 14 to 33 in one sitting. But then again, they get an on-the-go 1second AoE nuke that does roughly 10% damage, so when you spam that on the entire opposite faction for 4 seconds while everyone else picks them off 1 at a time you're getting ~5,000 xperience / 500 rp while they get maybe 100xp and 10 rp. Per kill.

I quit the game before they added Black Ork and Dwarf's melee dps class, and have been kinda looking around for something to do during down time (picked up LOTRO for 9.99, played that for the first month and was bored of it by then), so I might pick it back up.

Only thing is, the endgame is atrocious unless you're really really really into PVP. The game scales with the 4 tiers of gameplay (1-10,11-20,21-30,31-40), and it's something like 20%PvP/80%PvE content at tier 1, 40/60 at 2, 60/40 at 3 and 80%PvP/20%PvE from ~lvl 30 till endgame. And endgame is just raiding the other factions main town, which is to say that it's just a huge zergfest in various regions throughout the game, capping small objectives and big castles along the way to gain momentum.

It's really fun though if you can get into a good guild that actively does castle raids on tiers 1-3. The absolute worst thing about the trial is that it doesn't let you go past 10, and that's really when the game starts getting good. 1-10 isn't a good enough judge on the game if it's good or not, and after playing the game for a good month or so you'll be able to knock 1-10 out so fast that you'll ever wonder how it took the entire week of your trial to get there when you can do it in 2-3 hours now.

I'm rank 4 now. Seems like you get at least one new skill every level and at like 10/20/30 you get like 3-4 new skills. The Ork skills are really well named, such as "Trip 'Em Up!" which lowers an enemies movespeed and deals good damage.

How much is it per month?

I appreciate how WAR focuses on developing its lore. I heard that the Slayer and Choppa events are now currently available after the happenings of Bitter Rivals - but one would have to complete the event first. I should have participated there.

WAR had so much promise and it failed to deliver a system that appeals to everyone. Thats the only thing that makes a game flourish these days :[

Also... the damn cities were too big! WAY too big!

I played WAR from its days as a beta, and really did enjoy the game for both its similarities and differences from WoW. I had two favorite characters, a chaos zealot and dark eldar disciple of khaine. However, once release came around, I slowly stoppled playing.

I miss the game, and as I still have an active account, sometimes go back to play. I really do love the lore and detail they put into the book (I forget what they call it), and I am totally an achievement wh**e, so this game can keep calling me back.

As for the game mechanics thing...I never thought to try that. I just might; I would love to see higher level stuff.

I played warhammer as a zealot, it was really fun until we hit the scenarios and people started punting everyone into lava. I haven't tried it recently, but tanks were so overpowered it was rediculous.

To me I never find it interesting enough to play. the plot of the game is too weak. The response which i have got from other people also proves it unworthy to play.
