Ok, I just got snifferxp and loaded it and everything.
I pressed .snifferxp show all and a whole bunch of packets that are recieved start flooding in and a few ones that are sent. If I try to press snifferxp show r or s i get unhandled exception.

ok what I am asking is, Why do I keep getting unhandled exception when I try to press .snifferxp show s?

the same thing happened to me, i just got tired of it laggin d2 then eventually giving me that damn windows box saying "UNHANDLED EXEPTION ERROR c000005". so i deleted sniffer. But I trust your not using sniffer and hacket on your main account... i just used it once on one of my mule accounts. it was soon banned...... Damn you blizz.

though i did email blizz about the error (that i get this error in normal gameplay.. i followed the steps and it DID get rid of the error while i was playing normally, however.) and they reply:

"The first step is to reinstall the game, but before reinstalling, you may want
to back up your single-player character files. These files are stored in the
Diablo II\Save\ folder on your hard drive. The character files have the same
name as the character. Save these files to another directory or to a floppy
disk and then restore them once you have reinstalled the game.

Uninstall Diablo II by going to Start, Programs, Diablo II, and choose
Uninstall Diablo II. Once the game is uninstalled you can delete the Diablo II
folder from your hard drive.

Now, run a thorough scandisk and defrag of your hard drive(s). You will
probably find it helpful to disable your screen saver and power management
features before you scandisk or defrag. Sometimes Windows will restart the
defragmentation and/or scandisk if your screen saver or power management kicks
in.

(Windows 98/Me)

* Click on the Start button and go to Run.
* Type in "scandisk" (without quotes) and click the OK button.
* Follow the prompts and select "Thorough" scandisk and let it run.
* This will tell you if there are any problems on the hard disk.

* Click on the Start button and go to Run
* Type in "defrag" (without quotes) and click the OK button.
* Follow the prompts to defrag your hard drive.
* This will make the available space more usable by your programs.

(Windows 2000/XP)

* Open My Computer, and select the local disk you want to check.
* On the File menu, click Properties.
* Click the Tools tab.
* Under Error-checking, click Check Now.
* Under Check disk options, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad
sectors check box and the automatically fix file system errors box.
* Select yes to schedule after restart if a dialog box comes up prompting you
to do so.
* Restart your computer

* Open My Computer, and select the local disk you want to check.
* On the File menu, click Properties.
* Click the Tools tab.
* Under Defragmentation, click Defragment now.
* Select volume to Defragment.
* Click Defragment.

Reinstall the multiplayer or full version of Diablo II and then install Diablo
II: Lord of Destruction. You will need your original Diablo II play disc for
the first part of the installation and the Expansion disc to finish the
installation. You will also need to have your original CD-Key for Diablo II and
the Lord of Destruction CD-Key accessible while you install. Windows 2000 users
need Administrative rights to run the Diablo II program.

Once again, please patch the game. You can patch the game by connecting to Battle.net for the auto-patch or you can download and run the stand-alone patch from our patch page at http://www.blizzard.com/patches/.

Update your Video Drivers

If you still get any errors, you should try updating DirectX and your video and sound card drivers. Even if you are sure that your drivers are up to date, you should double check by visiting the manufacturer's website. For instruction on how to identify your DirectX version and video card model/drivers, please visit our web site at: http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msi0371p. Once you have identified your DirectX version and your video card, you can then update each.

Check if your system is overheating or overclocked

If your system is overclocked it may be producing too much heat which will
adversely affect program performance. If the system is producing high amounts
of heat but is not overclocked, we would suggest you add a fan to your system
to help ventilate and cool the case.

Remove "New.net Application" from Add/Remove programs

Open control panel by going to Start, Settings, then Control Panel. Double
click on Add/Remove Programs, and look for the program called New.net. If you
find this application, please remove it.

If you still get errors, please provide the following information:

Please look in your Diablo II folder for any files that begin with D2 and end
in .txt. To clarify, we want any file that looks like D2debug.txt, or D2nnnnnn.
txt (n=number). Attach any error logs along with two files, your dxdiag.txt
and msinfo.txt, for further diagnosis. To obtain the systems diagnostic files,
follow the instructions below:

Important Note: Please reboot your system prior to creating the dxdiag and
msinfo files.

1. Click on Start.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type in DXDIAG and press Enter or click OK, this will open the DirectX
diagnostic tool.
4. Run each available DirectX test on the Display Tab and on the Sound Tab.
5. Click on the Save All Information Button (save this file to your windows
desktop and name it dxdiag).
6. Click on the More Help tab and open the Microsoft system information tool
(MSInfo).*
7. Click on File and choose Export (save this file to your windows desktop as a
text file and name it MSInfo). Please make sure to save this file as a .txt
file and NOT as a .nfo file.
8. Attach the dxdiag.txt and msinfo.txt files to a reply to this email.

*Special MSinfo Instructions for Windows 2000 users:

1. Create your dxdiag.txt file as explained above
2. Now choose the More Help tab
3. Click the MSInfo button
4. Important! - Be sure to highlight the System Information in the top left
5. Go to the Action menu, choose All Tasks, Save As Text File
6. Save the file to your Desktop and name the file msinfo.txt.
7. Attach this msinfo.txt file and the dxdiag.txt file to your reply email.

Hrm, nice good post. Helpful, but i really don't think all of that is necessary.
Try get the newest d2hackit and snifferxp and it should work fine.

well if you are showing all sent packets you should figure out which one(s) your looking for and just have it show them. if you wanna see all of them then you have to get it to write to a logfile which is in the sticky. also i use snuff instead of sniffer xp when i don't need to log them because it has it's own separate window that displays the packets it captured. it's easier to stop and look at one packet while still capturing others, and you can expand it and read a whole packet because you can't really see a whole 48 byte packet on the screen.
