Slow Diablo 2

My Diablo 2 is damn slow on loading. Not slow, but SLOW. When I load the char to continue, it seems to crash, but the CD-ROM is still spinning and loading SLOWLY, and my PC is in sync with it. The only way for me to load it is to remove the CD. Windows will then start yelling at me to put the CD back in, so I do and hit enter, then it finally loads. No offence, but Diablo is more 2D than WCIII, and my WCIII loads faster. When it loads, I have no problems playing. When I close Diablo 2 as well it crashes. System config: P4 1.8Ghz, 256MB SDRAM (PC-133), 64MB MSI Starforce GeForce 2 MX-400, 7200rpm Hard Disk, 52x CD-ROM/24x10x40 CD-RW. Which should I use?

No, but my sis downloaded like loads of LOTR screensavers which can't harm much, I hope.

um....cuz u might actualli dl a bug that slows ur comp down...

No, I just reformatted everything and I have few stuff on it: The Sims, WCIII, Diablo 2, Tribes 2 and AoM. I use Win98SE. And all my virus defs are up to date.

Reformatted first, of course.

mine did that too once.. just make sure you keep up-to-date on defragmenting and disk cleanup. that helps a little
