Single Player Question

im just playing around on LoD single player just finding items and such. I found all three of the keys, i go to act5 hell and try to transmute them, it does absolutely nothing. am i missing something or does it not just work on single player. help would be greatly appreciated.

i think its ladder only,so single player wouldint work

it isnt ladder only, you can do the Torch quest on nonladder, but it's a "World Event" like uber diablo so it has to be done online...still wacky you can FIND the keys offline though...seems like a waste of a drop.
