Setting doodad states...

Setting doodad states and switches are the only two things that i honestly can't do, or get told how to, then forget. :(

Can someone tell me how to open a Left Pit Door (Or any door for that matter) with using one Location? (If it's more than one i'll be very upset :()

I set the trigger to Player 1 (For example) brings at least one Any Unit to Location Door1, then Disable doodad state for Left Pit Door at Location Door1. I've tried this three times using Enable and Toggle but nothing seems to work for me. :confused:

I'm pretty sure you have to make the trigger apply for all players, or someting like that. I forget why, but its just how it works with doors. Switches aren't too hard once you understand them, but I won't get into that here.

I don't really want to circulate the map yet, i have my reasons. Besides, i just started it.

Could someone actually make a map, to show me how to do it. :)

Renzokuken, just make it disable/enable doodad state for the door owned by ALL PLAYERS.

By the way, here's a good way to remember the names of the doors...

If the doorway permits access from (or to) upper-left, it's the Left door. On the other hand, if it's upper-right, it's the Right door. Yeah, it takes one location to do so.

Bolt_Head's User Guied to Doors

There are 4 kinds of doors Pit doors and Upper doors, Left and Right
-Pit Doors have the gears when they open and close
-Upper doors have are more gray
-A Right door is oriented like \
-A left door is oriented like /

Use the Trigger Action Set Doodad State to open or close a door

When a door is Enabled it is closed
When a door is Disabled it is opened
When it ask for the player Choice All players
Toggle is useless don't use it
Every Door requires its own location.

(I think that covers everything where people mess up)

I worked it out myself eventually. I chose all players for the sake of it and it worked :D
