Server going down dupe

When the server goes down ie (Server going down in 5 mins)
Does this dupe work.

Scenario:

You and a friend go into a private game.


Lets say you give the items you want to dupe to your friend. Your friend leaves the game and you stay in the game until the game kicks you out due to server shutting down.

2nd question.

How do you get the server to shut down. Do you stay in the game for more than like....2 to 3 hours????

LOL, you can't make a new game every time you make/join a different game you go on a different server. Sorry to burst your bubble but you have to stay in the game you are in to do this rollback dupe. I have been playing diablo II since it first came out and I have seen that message about 11 times (not including while botting because well, I dont watch it) It usually only happens around 3 AM-6 AM. You cannot MAKE a server shut down, they do it automaticly so they aren't slower than they already are... but nobody can complain about how slow they are unless they donate to blizzard monthly because they are free.

true ... afaik this will only work if you and your friend are in the game when u get the msg ... then you mule, friends joins another game and you stay untill you get kicked ... doesnt always work though ... and you cant shut the server down

A friend and I tried it. We were both in a game and got the msg. Then we exchanged items. But the we both stayed in the game until we got kicked out. When we entered another game. Nothing was duped we just got our items back. As if we never exchanged at all.

that's cuz your friend is supposed to leave the game and join another one BEFORE the server goes down while you just sit in that game and wait for the world around to to fall apart
