After reading under the gaming forum sections, i saw halo, pc, xbox, nintedno, and PSX PS but no place to put this so i will keep it here in chit-chat until moved or whatever:
heres my question:
how many of you guys ever owned a Sega Saturn, or ever heard of one? They came out before the playstation and were the first to use disc games and started the Gex, tekkan, and Panzer Dragoon series i think-
i had one of these like 8-9 years ago, but i never really found out why they never got really popular even though they came out before the PS-
they had a few games, but what few they had were awesome.
I had a small colelction, including Tekkan, Panzer Dragoon Zwei (omg this game owned), Gex, and Sonic- forgot which sonic it was, but it was like the first 3d sonic game ever- and it had graphics in that game, i beleive, that surpasses any new PS graphics on any game.
gimme' some feedback on this..

Well, Saturn never got famous because it was to difficult to program it and as a result games were really expensive to produce and rare... then came PSX and for about two months there was some competiton but Saturn was quickly pushed aside (PSX was cheaper to program and way faster the games ratio soon grew to about 4:1 for PSX) When Nintendo64 1st appeared, it had a great graphical display (Super Mario is one of the best platform games) the two main drawbacks wich pushed it asside for the weaker but, more reliable, PSX were the programing (cartridges are far more expensive than cd's, can't carry that much info and are harder to program), late entry in the market (PSX was already well stablished with a lot of games), much slower game production (because the programing and manufacturing costs) and few games available in it's launch...
This is some of the console history... feel free to ask for more:)

I have a Saturn, but SegaCD was the first system to use CD's, not Saturn.

Only games I have for it is Megaman X4, Knights Into Dreams, and Space Jam.

Sega Cd was a sound system that boosted Megadrive abilities... (much like 32X...) it had cool games indeed...I recal one car game that was particulary amusing:)
