It doesn't happen often anymore that I make a thread asking a question... But... I was just curious if SCXE opporates okay with StarForge when you guys try using both of them.

My problem is... I made some square terrain, saved the map, and opened it in SCXE. I looked at the terrain, moved around a bit and noticed that all of these glitches appear everywhere.

Example: Where there is jungle terrain I see black terrain, which is supposed to be near it.

It still acts like the terrain it's supposed to be but it seems to be displaying any terrain around it. Does this happen to you guys or is my SCXE screwed up?

By the way, I also tried it with regular StarEdit, and SCM Draft Alpha. The only one that displays the terrain correctly is SCM Draft Alpha, not including StarForge.

Staredit and StarForge use two different sections of the chk file to display the graphic tiles from. If you have any null (black) tiles in the map, staredit will not redraw over them when you scroll, creating that "glitch" effect. The bug is in Staredit, not StarForge, and there is nothing I can do about it. This goes for SCXE too, because it is a patch of Staredit.

My advice is to use StarForge as a finishing tool, so that you won't have to worry about any problems with compatibility in Staredit. Once StarForge is done, though, you won't need any other programs.

Alright, thanks a lot. I do have the Null, so I'll remove that until I'm done with the map. It's getting really annoying.:pThanks everyone.

I remember discovering this terrain, and calling it "mimic terrain". This is when I was hexing the TILE section, I think it was (maybe ISOM but I doubt it).

There are two bytes to a tile. I have a tutorial I wrote for this, but since I looked at the terrain editor in GU Edit (Which is an inferior one to Starforge - Kudos), there was no point.

Heimdal can you make a brush that is customizable like a plus sign or any other tetris piece?

I assume you mean that you used StarForge to edit your map. StarDraft is a modding program.

As of right now, StarForge cannot synthesize the ISOM section, so Staredit/SCXE cannot properly create isometric terrain on a map after it has been saved with StarForge. Once again, I suggest only using StarForge as a finishing tool.

The isometric terrain mode of StarForge will be done soon.

Nice Heimdal, are all of those going to be used? If not, what will be taken out?

Just about everything in that list will be included eventually. I had thought that there was a longer list...I'll go look for it now.

Here's the thread that was started after we closed the first one:
http://www.blizzforums.com/showthread.php?t=20244
It has a slightly more complete list of features to be included. The only aspect that I might never get around to is modding over b.net.

That's so awesome. Mission briefing PREVIEW, switching the VIEW. Is it going to be at 90° angles, or just 180°? I was going to ask a question... But it was in your "Things not to ask" so I decided not to.
