Skeletal Rage 2 - MP/SP (against AI) B.NET Map
For starters, you can read about
Skeletal Rage (first one) over
here and download it from
here. It was featured on PC Gamer (+Future Gamer.. their cousin) as well.
For
Skeletal Rage 2, I took all the feedback and decided to revamp the whole thing, starting with the gameplay, I decided to go back to the 'Footmen Wars' root of this game and take some elements from Dota/AOS gameplay in the process. The problem with the old version was that when you are done upgrading, there isn't anything else left to do but spam units and attack each other... basically, the gameplay becomes really slow in the end. Not to mention the problem with the normal melee elements that made this map into Footmen Wars and Custom Melee mix, only with very less upgrades.
In SR2, I have introduced balanced units from the start, gameplay is faster, and you will be 'forced' to fight than sit at your base and wait for you enemies to strike. There are many RPG elements where player heroes will even be able to trigger minor quests during the game. Hidden shops, secret upgrade
r (that when activated, visits every base so that players can purchase new upgrades), new 'limited' heroes (better to concentrate on few than have 10 similar styled heroes) new special effects, new skins and models.. etc.
So yeah, it's completely new
Random Reasons (SP Adventure/RPG)
Here's the story (well, what it's based on) CnP from the readme of latest alpha..
"In a cold night at the frozen lands of Burfictional, 3 orcs disappeared while trying to find a way to the Sunken Ruins tileset. 5 years later their tale was told to the world.."
This map is inspired by all those random maps & campaigns for Wc3 that doesn't make any sense plot-wise. BUT, this map uses many gameplay features and ideas from my 'UNDERWORLD' campaign, which basically turns it into a pure RPG with multiple choices based gameplay, located in detailed 'fictionally realistic' world. The storyline and dialogues were inspired by many user maps out there you don't wanna play, but the inspiration came from many other places than just maps/campaigns.
Since my 'Underworld' campaign is taking too long to finish, I decided to create a small RPG with many features taken straight from that campaign. Added humor, quests and stories inspired by many maps and campaigns out there (no, they aren't actually named in-game, don't wanna offend anyone else's work), it's crazy.
Your characters react realistically to the cold, you can find and use pickable weapons/shields, make allies or enemies (depends on your actions and randomization of the dialogues). The biggest addition in the RPG is the multiple choiced environment. There are many ways to finish a quest, many endings, there are choices (if you can figure them out) for almost everything. It's not just go from point A to B and kill some random creeps on t he way. Your survival depends on how you 'behave' with everyone out there. It's realistic (fictionally), with consequences to your action. If you screw up a quest (even main quest), game doesn't end there, you still play, but experience different moments.
