I started playing this season, so once ladder resets, will I be able to keep any of my characters or gear that i've collected?? Will my account name be the same, and if so will blizz just delete all my characters? any help would be greatly appreciated

no, consider nonladder and ladder as different system as hardcore and soft core.

I doubt it. The best idea is to give your stuff to a friend or sell for sojs to make DC pop.
