Rune looking

i need high runes...
so i was hoping someone could tell me where i can find high runes in hell

Countess can drop up to Ist rune in hell.
Forge can drop up to Gul rune in hell.
Cows can drop any rune (but less likely).

Those are the main places for rune hunting.

Umm... Cows, yes, ahhh man in 1 run i found the runes to make hoto
err..... CHAOS RUNNING
Get a bunch of lvl 90's together and with high mf(sorc's?)

Rune hunting is NOT based on mf.
Countess=<Gul
Basically, after that, the people can drop pretty much anything, but the odds of that happening are slim to none-21492734.

I rune hunt in hell act 1, cows (sometimes), and halls of pain.
To date this season are my findings:
The pits -> Jah rune (w 2 ppl in game)
Blood Moor -> Mal rune (w 5 ppl in game)
Halls Of Pain -> Um rune (w 2 ppl in game)
Hell Cows -> 2x Dol (w 7 ppl in game)
Hellforge -> Gul rune (just me in game @ level 84)
Countess -> Lem rune

Gul while rushing a level 5? I kinda doubt that since u can't drop a rune higher than your level....
Vex from countess? I doubt that too I think her highest is IST, she always drops me garbage.
And MF has NOTHING to do with finding runes.

Gul is the best rune that can drop from hell forge? Wow, I was lucky I suppose.

What's Gul worth, btw? I've got one sitting in my inventory atm.

Countess has a 1:1109 chance of dropping ist, and better chances for runes more common than that, so around 1:500ish for Um and 1:750ish for Mal.

For any higher runes, it is complete and utter luck, and you should never, ever go out killing things with the idea that you are SEARCHING for a high rune, unless you want to be disappointed... most people find their high runes either mfing countess for ums mals or ists or mfing superuniques for items, or just plain out luck in a baal or cow game.

Almost all high runes are duped, which is why they pretty much all have the same value. Zod's value may be near that of Ohm's, but Ohm is actually around 10x more common.

Also, to homo's question of the value of a Gul..

Completely dependent on ladder / nonladder, lol. Nonladder Gul is quite worthless, yet ladder Gul is worth half a vex

A gul numericly is 2x ist, however I would say 2 ists were much more tradable than a gul.

Anyways I traded my hellforge gul for an ist mal um, i then proceded to use the 3 lower runes to get a shako and arachnid. **Note this was REAL early on the ladder when shakos were going for gul+, neways I think I gave a ist for the shako and a mal for the arachnid.

The Jah I dropped I ended up with a hoto and ist.

And if theres a way to dupe high runes why hasn't someone told me yet?

Once again i reiterate what was already said mf has nothing to do with finding runes only items. That is known to everyone who has been playing Diablo for ne length of time. Besides Forge,Countess,Baal runs and Cows which are fairly good to find runes it is pure Luck what drops.
