This last friday, my friend showed me the game, and I didn't like it. Well, I made a 35 hours marathon playing that game during the weekend, and I managed to end it. The game owns, it does not require that much of a computer, and the battles are just, well, great.

For example, the Roman Legionaries have the Textudo formation, and not even a single one in around 400 died against archers, while moving against them. That formation owns.

Anyone else plays it?

Yes, there's a multiplayer option, but I'm not sure how it works.

Bought Shogun: Total War a couple of years ago and I was hooked onto it. When Medieval: Total War came out I loved it even more. Can't wait till the prices go down on Rome: Total War. It looks awesome.

The history on the game does not really match the real history. On that time there was no Egypt, it was Macedoniac (Alexander the Great conquered it)...

Joe's Garage.
I bought Medieval: total war. And to my surprise everything what White blocks. The men where small white blocks. the terrain were white blocks for trees and rounded off white hills. I wanted to kill someone.

You should read the requirements of the games before you buy it :-/

Still, Rome TW graphic engine is better than Medieval.

I am playing it, but i keep getting my ass kicked. I will take a settlement, only to have an invading force completely demolish me, then my ports get blockaded and i get over run... its pissing me off, but its a good game

It is not an easy game. And it's always better to do the battles yourself, initially. Some time later, it gets way too much to do, but in the beggining, you should, to build a solid base (I mean, automatic battles may be too bad :-/).

And keep building stuff, armies and navies, but don't let them camped in the town. Spread them all over the provinces, in case you need to help breaking up a siege.

Make spies, to see what is in an army you will attack, or a city you'll siege. Make also assassins to kill enemy's family members (very important thing, this one), and diplomats to make alliances, or at least to get as much trade rights as you can. And use the temples well.

--Edit--

It's also important to build roads, sewers, farms and forums, to make the people in the town happy, so they won't rebel.

My cities were doing really well, almost all had a great population, and i was pushing
40000$(whatever the currency is), My army was huge and stuff, my navy was also pretty good. I just keep getting rushed by like 3 different factions at the same time. One would siege one town, another killed my navys while I was being taken out by yet another faction. Its no fair. Diplomacy didnt work either.

Well, with that money, you can bribe the army to get the hell out of the besieged town, and you can also demand a faction to attack one of the others, by an ammount of money... Most of the times, at least.
