In this thread you will post reviews of a game.
Rules: You must use proper grammer and spelling, you may not use single letters or numbers as words.
This is a serious thread, if you dont fully review correctly, then edit your post or dont post at all.
There are 4 parts to a review:
-Control: Key layouts, camera control and responsive; 'Does the game feel right?'
-Graphics: Resolution, textures, when does the games frame rate drop?
-Sound: duh
-Fun factor: What makes it fun?

To fully express how serious this thread is, you must NOT use any numbers to rate a game, such as 9/10.

Enjoy!

Just to comment, you broke your own rule of "you may not use single letters or numbers as words" by using "a". I believe you mean, "You may not use IM language." instead...

I'll start with the newest game to have been added to my GC library...

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles

-Control:
The layout is quite confortable in single player and is easy to get used to in multi player. For the most part, however, the GBA does have a lack of control only having a directional pad, but that be fixed with a GBA peripheral -- a face plate that overlays a joystick atop the standard GBA.
It is quite responsive, and you won't find yourself unable to move unless you use a Wavebird and the batteries die. The camera is fairly well centered on the character, though lack of camera control -- though understandable -- can be awkward.
Overall, it feels right.

-Graphics
Resolusion is great.
Textures are well defined.
Frame Rate rarely drops, and it only does so when everyone (boss and four players) casts a spell at the same time.

-Sound
The music is good, though some find it repeditive. I like it.
The sound effects work, and are quite good.

-Fun Factor
I have one word: Connectivity.
It first got me interested in the game, and it has proven as the funnest component of the game. I love using and abusing the connectivity feature, and that includes Single and Multi Player. I find the free riegn control of your character -- no story to hold him/her down -- to be quite interesting as I can build my character anyway I want. There are flaws as in any first, but it is definetly an excellent first try. I look forward to continuation.

Here is my review on Call of Duty. I wrote this awhile ago and I don't feel like re reviewing a game just because of this. So anyone without further ado here is my review, on Call of Duty.

Call of Duty Review

So here is the latest World War II game. Let me say that Infinity Ward did an excellent job with this game. They may have not done anything new for the FPS genre but they sure did make it allot more fun. While the game has a very striking resemblance to Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. This is not a bad thing after all Allied Assault was a great game (still is).

The single player is filled with three campaigns and each mission is a blast. You start off as an American soldier who missed his drop zone and you join another squad. You seen take over a nearby village. After the American campaign you will start off as a British soldier. Then followed by a Russian campaign starting in Stalingrad, which looks almost same to the movie Enemy at the Gates. The first two missions actually look almost exactly the same. You also are the sniper another resemblance to the game. Either way the single player is a blast… while it lasts. The single player suffers from being short. It only took me about 6 hours to beat. If you would rather have more quality then quantity then you are in luck. Even if you don’t every First Person Shooter fan would love it.

The multiplayer is however not as strong as the single player. Don’t get me wrong. It is actually quite fun but its just your standard shoot them up. Nothing new that has not been seen before. It is fun none the less though. The one thing that I really do like in the multiplayer is that allot of servers don’t use the cross hair. Instead you use your gun sights to aim. While you move slower your accuracy goes up. Infinity Ward has promised they will have a patch out that will add a new mode called “Headquartersâ€. Which may or may not change how the multiplayer is.

I used Call of Duty on one system with two different video cards. One being the Nvidia Geforce 2 GTS-V 64 MB, and the ATI Radeon 9800 PRO. I got great visuals out of both cards and there was not a huge difference in quality. Obviously however I was using the Geforce 2 GTS-V on an 800x600 resolution and the 9800 PRO with a 1024x768. I did not have any major problems with either card. The specs on the system I tested where as follows:

Pentium 4 2.0ghz

512 DDR RAM PC2100

100 GB hard drive

Nvidia Geforce 2 GTS-V 64 MB/ ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128mb

In concluding I would just like to say Call of Duty is simply a great game and if you even have a small interest in First Person Shooters you should pick it up.

More game to come :)

"Wow" you sound like a fanboy. I played this game, too. The control annoyed me. The graphics reminded me of a poorly rendered 16-bit game. The sound fit that... The fun was drained by a poor storyline and awful, well, most everything else. You didn't go into any detail, at all or point out any bad points, and that really discredits you.

I also pointed out a few flaws of a negative review that is short and doesn't point out the good points of the game. What I said sounds somewhat fanboyish, but, then again, I didn't find anything to say positive for the game. I guess I could say that... Nope, the forward "3D" scrolling was no good. Hmm? Maybe... No, sorry, I can't think of anything nice I could say, but I decided a negative was needed as a counter to that rather...bad post and review.

I'll add something constructive now... sakuhta If you want to use any review of mine, don't bother PMing me. You have permission to use anything I say as long as I get credit.

Lost Kingdoms

-Control
I'll start with my only two gripes with the contols for this game. First off, the analog stick feels a little clunky in this game, and it's best to always try to be moving "forward". Second, the cameral control is awkward with only four positions. It's difficult to move, but it actually fits quite well.
On the plus side, the button assignments for magic (cards) is quite well played. This is where the game really shines, and you won't find yourself in want of more card control. The use of L, R, and Z work well with A, B, X, and Y -- giving you even more control over your cards.

-Graphics
Now, a little dated. They don't take full advantage of the GC's impressive IBM Gecko Processor, but it looks it's part as release fodder. The monsters are believable, the spell effects fit, and the traps spring to life on cue. There is slowdown when you come across a boss battle and are forced to summon multiple cards to the field at once, including several summons. It is fun to watch four black dragons on the field at once, however.

-Sound
It works, but that's about it. It definetly feels like a "first" game in a series, and it can be improved upon. However, you really get the feeling that things are working properlly. Traps, such as manicore, sound effective coming out of the ground and, in manicores case, screetching to throw out an enemy's ear drums.

-Fun Factor
This game is not for everyone, but there is definetly an audience for it. I find it interesting to try to come up with a variety of deck strategies entering a level. One of my favorites is to build a deck that would kill you if not for healing cards, such as Water Bird or Blue Dragon, healing you. As with most games, I recommend rental, first.

River City Ranson

For the SNES

-=Control=-
Very simple, 4 buttons, with some very quick acces for quite the classic controller. Certian combos are executed with moves only as short as 'down, up'. Double tap in any direction to run, press Y to throw, X to fight. Picking up items, moving across the area hasnt been easier. The simple layout is a beautiful example for modern games to make control simple. THe camera is always one directional and gives absolutely no problems at all.
-=Graphics=-
Even though its 2d, there are some frame drops when 10 bad guys appear on a screen at once [hey, at the time, it was probobly high tech]
-=Sound=-
The quirky background music, the punches, the awsome beeps whenever someone is talking, its all there.
-=Fun Factor=-
This game is a classic, purches books on how to jump super high, or learn the dragon kick, which allows kicking as fast as you tap that button. The fast paced action can be double the fun when 2 players are trying to save their girl. High school rivals has always been a good base for a fighting game, and this one is no exeption. Game Boy Advanced version comming soon.

.Hack// infection (PS2)

Control: Pretty easy to learn learning curve should be 5-10 minutes.

Graphics: Graphics are not that bad. Gives a real feeling of a MMORPG

Sound: Sound is pretty good. but there all the same and gets boring after a whille.

Fun factor: What makes it fun? Its a very challenging game. The simulation of the MMORPG "The World" is like the tv show (.hack//sign).

Graphics-Well back in 98 and using the lith tech engine it was pretty slick(ran on my 166 MHz and a 16 meg STB Velocity 4400 everything maxed with almost no slowdowns)
Controls- are excellet becuase its a first person shootter with a mouse W,A,S,D controls are the best but you can customize them to your liking
Sounds- music is repetive but hey it works considering in a firefight you'll never notice Sound FX wise is really well done
Fun Factor- Mecha or on foot kill a thon blood flies all over and well squishing people below you massive MCA's foot is fun.
Plus a ton of mods made this game a blast

You should be able to find this for about 5 bucks most places

over all-Really good but i have never got to play multiplayer.

That's spam. Either give a review or I will report you. (i.e. edit your post, DON'T make a new one)

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (aka: Takt of the Wind)

-Control:
If you liked Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time's control layout, you'll love it even more here. It fully takes advantage of the comfortable (to me) GC contoller design. It's responsive and smooth, and I can hardly find anything wrong with it. You should be careful on a Wavebird, however, as the batteries could die quickly with how long and hard you'll be playing this game.

-Graphics:
I love the cel-shading, period. The graphics run smooth, and the Gecko is truely showing it's splendor in this game. Second to none, this is the prettiest game in the market. Wonderful artwork is only enhanced by the smooth running graphics and progressive-scan technologies. Facial Expressions are beutifully rendered, and you will almost never see any significant slow-down.

-Sound:
The sound fits, and the score will always remind you of "Legend of Zelda" grandeur, in general. The exlosions, metalic clangs, spell effects, enemy grunts, cue marks, etc. are all well exentuated and mark well with the graphics. It just, flat out, fits.

-Fun factor:
It's Legend of Zelda, and it's a true sequel to the most loved game of all time -- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It matches and enhances the battle system all ready laid out. There are multiple side quests that make a challenge fun, and funny, at many, if not most or all, points. You'll want to explore every inch of every dungeon and every map just to take full advantage of everything there is to offer -- that is, if you are a Zelda fan.

I must say... I agree with GameSpot, one of the harshest, most unbiased and best reviewers out there, when they give this game a 10/10 and gave it the Best Game of 2003 award. This game hardly has any flaws, and, if I had to point one out, it would be that it's...hard to name a flaw for... Sorry, I can't name a flaw.

Sly Cooper (PS2)[/center

Control: I learned the keys like a day or two since this is a game i got my PS2 with and i didnt know the ps keys and where they were. Learing curve i think should be no more then 30 minutes.

Graphics: not bad kinda like cel art. Gets a little laggy but its not that noticable

Sound: Funny, Music is kind classic when u tip toe and you hear that dom dom dom dom every step.

Fun factor: Its alright not to hard, at least beatable in a week or so if u put in 3 hours a day.
