[Request] Some info on a A1 HDin Merc

Hiyas,

I was wondering what I should put on this girl, should it be:

Eth Dream
Eth Fort
Eth 15%ED P Faith (In a Crusader, Hydra or a 0 BSpeed bow?)

Or should I use an Eth Andys or what not, please some info she is to work together with my Hdin since I heard those are the best for HDins, tho I like my current A2 Insight merc too.

That would be a good setup, although I'm not sure how much resists a rouge would get. Plus, with you teleporting into a crowd, she won't be as effective since she will get teleported into there also.

My recommendation is for an act 2 nightmare defensive merc, which is holy freeze. Simply because he is my favorite of all the act 2 mercs, and can slow all the enemies down.

What would be better? Shooting at someone that can hit you melee (really close) and not do that much damage; or stab someone and do much more damage and have the chance to make them slow, while staying the same distance away from the enemy.

The only way the rouge would work is if you are not going to be teleporting into crowds, which you should do, as a hammerdin.

You can use the same setup, but just change the weapon.

I'm asking why a lot of the really godly hammerdins I see, do use a bowamerc.

Also, I know how to build an A2 merc really, and I do prefer the (Eth) Andies for increased Strenght+it has more LL than a Gaze and a general merc doesn't dies in PvM really, only from IM which won't safe him from his own attacks anyway.

Well some hammerdins might use a merc for duells, and then the bow merc is good... But for Pvm and stuff a act 2 merc rocks.... also merc's is normally bad mannerd in duels..

I have yet to see a hammerdin with a act 1 merc. What realm is that on? I was on USEast LAdder.

I don't like Andy's helm, that - 30 fire bugs the hell out of me .... (yea I know the rune) I would want to socket it with something useful, that doesn't really get resists to a minimum lvl over the negative. That's just me I guess.

I have yet to have any problem with act 2 HF mercs with proper gear. I do however, agree that they would be useful with PvP, but like stated before, in PvM your teleing into a mob, they would be pointless in that.

i've always wanted to make an act1 merc using cold arrow and this gear..
Ice Crusader Bow
Fortitude Dusk Shroud
Nightwings Veil

Maybe for a barb...the zon freezes a bunch of the enemies then you fly in and ww like crazy

Use that for a sorc, that way it wont follow a melee attack character into melee range combat.

The reason why HD's use act one mercs is because all HD's use enigma, when they teleport the act 1 merc will not run into the oponent, they will stay safely with the player in the field of hammers. they also deal decent damage. If you are planning on using an act1 merc however i suggets you get at least +4 skills with the equipment. with +4 skills on an act1 merc they gain a lightning attack. take your pick of a +2 skills helm, i would use CoH for the res, and any bow that you please. remember to use gear that gives + to ALL skills, and not plus to amazon skills, since our merc is a rogue not an amazon. =)
on a side note i know ALL Hd's do not use enigma, but any good dueling one will kthanx^^;

If a hammerdin teleports into a group, wouldn't that be a bad thing for the mercenary, considering she is ranged. That would be like running into a group with any ranged person, lets say bowazon, and start shooting, instead of going farther away so you don't die. An act 2 merc on the other hand, will benefit from teleporting into a group, as he would otherwise have to walk into the group.

Anyone that says use an act 1 merc does not know how to make a hammerdin.

Well imo the act 1 merc for a hammerdin is only for PvP.. Becouse like some other said: you tele on to Lister and his minions: and since your act 1 merc got low dr she will get raped.. Now with a act 2 merc he will most likely have more dr% and more chance to survive.. also a act 2 merc can use Insight for the Medi aura..

So PvP would be best with a act 1 merc, and PvM is best with an act 2 merc..
